Key Responsibilities:

Leadership:

1. Lead and manage a team of substation engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and coaching to ensure their growth and development.

2. Supervise and manage departmental staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.

3. Foster a positive and inclusive work environment

4. Encourage professional development and growth

Project Engineering Management:

1. Oversee the design, development, and implementation of substation engineering works, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and adherence to industry standards.

2. Oversee day-to-day departmental operations

3. Manage budgets, resources, and workflows

4. Ensure efficient use of resources and adherence to organisational policies

Technical Expertise:

1. Provide technical leadership and expertise in substation engineering, including proposal engineering, detail engineering works for Electrical, Civil etc for AIS &; GIS substations of upto 765kV voltage level.

2. Client Management: Liaison with clients to understand their requirements, provide technical guidance, and ensure client satisfaction.

3. Innovation: Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and innovations, applying this knowledge to improve substation engineering designs, processes, and procedures.

4. Quality Assurance: Ensure that all substation engineering works meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company quality assurance processes Implement quality control processes and monitor performance metrics

Collaboration:

1. Liaise with other departments and stakeholders to achieve organizational goals

2. Communicate departmental goals, plans, and achievements to staff and stakeholders

3. Build and maintain relationships with external partners and vendors

Innovation and Improvement:

1. Encourage innovation, creativity, and continuous improvement

2. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes

Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks that could impact departmental operations or organizational reputation

Compliance and Governance: Ensure adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

Requirements:

1 Experience: Minimum 20 years of experience in substation engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.

- Technical Skills: Strong technical expertise in substation engineering, Proficiency in industry- standard software.

- Leadership Skills: Proven leadership and management skills, with experience in leading and motivating high-performing teams.

- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to effectively communicate with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
