Position: Vice President - Statutory Compliance

Location: Raipur, Chhattisgarh

Role Overview:

The Vice President - Statutory Compliance will be responsible for end-to-end Statutory, Tax, and Regulatory compliance across the Group's Steel, Alumina, Mining, and Food divisions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Statutory Audits & Financial Compliance:

- Lead and oversee Statutory audits for all Group companies, Plants, and Divisions.

- Ensure compliance with Companies Act, Accounting Standards (Ind AS), and statutory reporting requirements.

- Coordinate with statutory auditors, internal auditors, cost auditors, and secretarial auditors.

2. GST & Indirect Taxation:

- Oversee GST compliance including returns, reconciliations, assessments, refunds, and audits.

- Manage GST implications for manufacturing, mining, logistics, and food processing operations.

- Handle GST litigation, notices, appeals, and departmental assessments.

- Ensure compliance with customs, excise (legacy), royalties, levies, and mining-related indirect taxes.

3. Direct Taxation (Income Tax):

- Oversee Income Tax compliance, including returns, tax audits, assessments, and appeals.

- Handle scrutiny cases, notices, and representation before tax authorities.

- Drive effective Tax planning within the legal framework.

4. Regulatory & Legal Compliance:

- Ensure compliance with Mining Laws, Environmental regulations (financial aspects), RBI guidelines, SEBI (if applicable), and other statutory requirements.

5. Risk Management & Governance:

- Identify statutory and tax risks and implement mitigation strategies.

6. Stakeholder & Authority Liaison:

- Act as the Primary interface with tax authorities, auditors, consultants, and regulatory bodies.

7. Team Leadership & Process Improvement:

- Lead and mentor Statutory compliance, taxation, and audit teams across divisions.

Qualification & Experience:

- Chartered Accountant (CA)

- 15+ years of post-qualification experience in Statutory Compliance, Taxation & Audit.

- Mandatory exposure to Steel / Alumina / Mining / Food Processing / Heavy Manufacturing.

- Strong experience in GST, Income Tax, statutory audits, and regulatory compliance.
