Job Title: VP / SVP - Global Information Reporting (GIR) Compliance
Location: Bangalore, Karnataka, India (On-site/Hybrid)
Employment Type: Full-time
About the Role:
We are seeking experienced leaders in Global Information Reporting (GIR) Compliance to manage global tax transparency obligations and investor reporting requirements across investment platforms. This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing investor classification, documentation, withholding tax compliance, and regulatory reporting across U.S. and international jurisdictions.
You will coordinate closely with internal teams, external advisors, and service providers to meet the firm's regulatory obligations under FATCA, CRS, and related regimes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead global tax transparency and investor reporting functions across multiple investment platforms.
- Oversee investor classification, documentation reviews (W-8/W-9), and withholding tax compliance.
- Manage regulatory reporting across U.S. and international jurisdictions (FATCA, CRS, AEOI).
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, external tax advisors, and service providers.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of U.S. tax reporting forms (e.g., 8966, 1042, 1099).
- Maintain GIIN registrations and oversee cross-border withholding requirements.
- Work extensively with large data sets, tax workpapers, and Excel-based reporting tools.
Required Experience & Skills:
- Experience: 12-16 years (VP) or 15+ years (SVP) in tax compliance, investor reporting, or GIR.
- Core expertise: FATCA, CRS, AEOI, cross-border withholding regimes.
- Forms & documentation: 8966, 1042, 1099, W-8, W-9, GIIN registrations.
- Investor tax reporting - hands-on experience required.
- Familiarity with non-U.S. regulatory regimes and international tax transparency standards.
- Advanced Excel skills - ability to handle large datasets and tax workpapers.
- Team handling experience is mandatory.
- Big 4 background preferred - except PwC.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master's or CPA/CA preferred).
- Deep understanding of U.S. withholding tax and international information reporting regimes.
- Preferred Location: Bangalore (candidates currently in Bangalore or willing to relocate)
