Vice President - Retail Projects (Tamil/Telugu Proficiency Required)
Role Summary:
The VP - Projects will oversee the construction, fit out of new showrooms & related works and ensure adherence to launch plan. He would lead the Project's/ Interior's team. He would work closely with both senior management and his team of site engineers to ensure on-time execution of expansion plans.
Key responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of VP Projects would include, but are not limited to the following:
- Responsible for coordinating and obtaining GFC for project sites.
- Coordinate with all the internal stakeholders for internal approvals pertaining to design, materials to be used, QS reports on material quantity and related costs.
- Coordinate and ensure timely delivery of projects by vendors in line with the approved parameters of the management.
- Responsible for both civil and interiors related to all offices/branches and showrooms of the company for either renovation or new construction.
- Responsible for timely execution of projects across multiple locations.
- Co-ordinate with Architect to develop store layout & work closely with senior management to finalize the layout
- Plan manpower allocation to all sites for construction.
- Review progress on a routine basis along with the team.
- Adopt best-practices and processes to ensure execution of interior works to perfection
- Assist PMO (Project Management office) to track & update progress of new store launch
- Update the progress of new stores progress to senior management and escalate issues & support required.
People management & review:
- Develop a strong team to take care of Project team
- Develop clear work-plans and define roles and responsibilities for the Project team
- Put in place performance management and monitoring systems
- Evaluates progress against annual plans
- Provide appraisals and feedback to the team. Ensure staff are motivated and organized to exceed performance targets
- Develop appropriate rewards and incentives structures
- Motivate, nurture, and develop staff; Promote an atmosphere of teamwork
Desired Competencies:

- Strong knowledge in retail interiors, fit-outs & civil work
- Strategic thinking - Identifying external threats and opportunities; adapting strategy to changing conditions. Business Acumen - Understanding business implications of decisions; Orientation for overall cost to company.
- Planning & managerial skills - ability to create & track plans, manage personnel & motivate team
- Ability to build good working relationships with multiple internal & external stakeholders
- Excellent & diverse verbal communication skills - ability to interact with multiple stakeholders from different backgrounds & sophistication levels
Profile:
- Technical Qualification - Mandatory: BE (Civil), Desirable: Qualification in Interior Designing
- Experience: 25 years in construction/interior works in a retail chain industry and at least 8 years in a senior management role
Language - English, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi
Age: 47 - 52 Years (Preferred)
Job will require frequent travel to showroom sites across India (Need Based Travel)
Key Performance indicators:
- Number of new showrooms opened against plan
- Cost of opening showroom within budget
- Renovation of existing showrooms
- Building a Strong Project team.
- Ensuring Cost effective, Renovation and Setting up New Showrooms.
- Setting up strong systemic process for Projects / new Showroom
- New store interior as per standards.
