Job Description Vice President, Project Finance (Relationship Manager)

Designation: Vice President Project Finance (RM)

Location: Mumbai

Experience: 8-15 years

Department: Corporate & Project Finance

Industry Preference: Large Private Banks / MNC Banks / Infrastructure Financing Institutions / Project Finance NBFCs

Role Overview:

The VP Project Finance (RM) will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, structuring, and managing project finance transactions across infrastructure, energy, transportation, manufacturing, and allied sectors. The role requires deep financial modelling skills, strong credit knowledge, and the ability to build long-term relationships with promoters, CFOs, and institutional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Deal Origination & Business Development:

- Identify and originate project finance opportunities across infrastructure, renewable energy, roads, ports, real estate, and industrial sectors.

- Build a strong deal pipeline through relationships with corporates, EPC players, investment bankers, consultants, and government bodies.

- Achieve asset growth, revenue targets, and wallet share objectives.

2. Credit Evaluation & Structuring:

- Conduct detailed project due diligence, financial modelling, cash flow analysis, and viability assessment.

- Structure end-to-end project finance proposals including term loans, consortium lending, refinancing, ECB, and structured solutions.

- Prepare credit memos, obtain internal approvals, and negotiate deal terms with clients.

3. Execution & Portfolio Management:

- Lead disbursement processes, documentation, security creation, and compliance.

- Monitor project progress, milestones, covenants, risk indicators, and repayment schedules.

- Manage consortium interactions, lender meetings, and periodic project reviews.

4. Stakeholder & Relationship Management:

- Liaise with promoters, CFOs, treasury heads, legal firms, rating agencies, and technical consultants.

- Collaborate with internal teamsRisk, Legal, Compliance, Product, and Operationsfor seamless execution.

- Ensure excellent client service and timely resolution of queries.

5. Governance, Risk & Compliance:

- Ensure strict adherence to regulatory guidelines, internal credit policies, and RBI norms.

- Maintain complete documentation, credit files, and audit compliance.

- Monitor sectoral risks and update internal stakeholders regularly.

Required Skills & Competencies:

- Strong understanding of project finance structures, financial modelling, cash flow-based lending, and risk assessment.

- Proven experience in evaluating infrastructure and long-gestation projects.

- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and relationship management skills.

- Ability to work with large corporate clients, government bodies, and consortium lenders.

- High ownership, execution capability, and attention to detail.

Education:

- MBA/PGDM in Finance preferred.

- CA / CFA will be an added advantage.
