Vice president product - Payments / Ecommerce / SAAS
Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Vice President of Product to lead our payment gateway product strategy and execution. The role demands a deep understanding of the payments ecosystem, merchant acquiring, UPI, cards, tokenization, risk, compliance, and cross-border payments, combined with proven leadership in building scalable, innovative, and secure payment solutions.
As VP of Product, you will own the product roadmap, drive customer-centric innovation, and collaborate closely with engineering, compliance, partnerships, and sales teams to position our payment gateway as the partner of choice for enterprises and SMEs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and drive the overall product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the payment gateway business.
- Lead end-to-end product lifecycle: ideation, requirement gathering, design, execution, launch, and continuous enhancement.
- Build innovative payment solutions covering UPI, cards (debit/credit/prepaid), tokenization, netbanking, wallets, subscription billing, and cross-border.
- Work closely with regulatory bodies (RBI, NPCI, card networks) to ensure compliance and drive adoption of new payment standards.
- Partner with engineering, design, and operations teams to deliver secure, scalable, and frictionless payment experiences.
- Collaborate with sales, merchant success, and alliances teams to identify market opportunities and drive growth.
- Monitor product performance metrics (conversion, success rates, fraud, transaction volumes) and optimize for scalability and profitability.
- Drive merchant and consumer-focused innovation to stay ahead of fintech disruption.
- Mentor and build a high-performing product team, fostering a culture of ownership, experimentation, and customer-first mindset.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 12 to 18 years of experience in product management, with at least 5+ years in leadership roles within payments, fintech, or financial services.
- Strong expertise in UPI, cards, merchant acquiring, tokenization, fraud/risk systems, and regulatory frameworks.
- Proven track record of launching and scaling successful payment products in India or global markets.
- Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and execution skills.
- Strong stakeholder management experience ability to work with regulators, banks, card networks, and large enterprise merchants.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills to inspire teams and drive organizational alignment.
