Vice President - Product Control - Banking

- 15-18 years of experience in finance or accounting, ideally within banking or capital markets. Proven expertise in hedge accounting frameworks such as IAS 39 and IFRS 9.

Key Responsibilities:

Hedge Accounting & Financial Control:

- Oversee hedge accounting operations in compliance with IAS 39 and IFRS 9.

- Manage end-to-end processes for hedge designation, effectiveness testing, and de-designation.

- Ensure timely and accurate P&L reporting and balance sheet substantiation across relevant products.

- Implement and monitor robust financial controls and ensure audit-readiness.

Systems & Tools:

- Leverage hedge accounting platforms such as Sabre Cortex, Murex, or equivalent systems to support accounting and valuation workflows.

- Lead system integration and data alignment efforts between front office, finance, and risk systems.

Product Control Oversight:

- Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly P&L production, risk-based attribution, and reconciliations.

- Drive the standardization of controls, reporting, and financial analysis across business units.

- Partner with Treasury, Front Office, and Risk teams for hedge strategy alignment.

Process Improvements & Automation:

- Identify gaps and implement improvements in hedge accounting and product control functions.

- Champion automation initiatives to enhance reporting timelines and reduce manual dependencies.

Stakeholder Management:

- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Front Office, Risk, Regulatory Reporting, Treasury, and Internal/External Audit teams.

- Deliver accurate and insightful financial commentary to senior leadership and regulatory bodies.
