Job Title: Vice President - Private Equity Fund Accounting

Locations : Pune | Gurgaon | Bangalore (Primary hire for Pune - F2F/Virtual Drive on 9th May)

Experience: 12-15 years (strictly) in Private Equity Fund Accounting only - no Hedge Fund / Mutual Fund

Qualification: CA with max 4 attempts

Team Handling : Mandatory (Seasoned AVP with 3+ years can be considered for VP)

Shift : Night Shift (6:30 PM - 3:30 AM IST)

Work Model : Hybrid (4 days in office) OR Permanent Work From Home available - office visit only for urgent/critical meetings or deliveries

We are a leading global alternative asset manager with over US$1 trillion in AUM across private equity, real estate, infrastructure, renewable power, and credit. Our Private Equity Fund Accounting team is expanding rapidly in India, and we are looking to hire 30 VPs to lead fund operations, reporting, and team management across multiple strategies and structures.

Role Purpose

Lead the end-to-end private equity fund accounting function across multiple vintages, strategies (buyout, growth, venture, co-invest, secondaries), and structures (LP funds, feeder funds, parallel vehicles, SPVs). Own the platform, process, people, and client service pillars.

Core Responsibilities :

Process & Reporting :

- Own monthly/quarterly financial close and reporting (US GAAP/IFRS)

- Oversee capital calls, distributions, true-ups, equalizations, and side letter economics

- Manage valuations (ASC 820/IFRS 13) and waterfall allocations (deal-by-deal / fund-as-a-whole) including carried interest, preferred return, and catch-ups

- Ensure compliance with AIFMD, Form PF, Annex IV, FATCA/CRS

- Author and enforce global accounting policies, SOPs, and RACI matrices

Client Service & Stakeholder Management :

- Serve as senior point of contact for LPs addressing complex inquiries and bespoke reporting

- Collaborate with Deal Teams, Investor Relations, Legal, Compliance, and external auditors/administrators

- Lead onboarding for new funds/investors, side letters, and transitions

Platform, Technology & Controls

- Drive roadmap and optimization of fund accounting tech stack (Investran, Allvue, eFront, Yardi, Workiva)

- Implement data governance, master data management, and reconciliation frameworks

- Establish SOX-style internal controls, audit trails, and role-based access

People Leadership :

- Manage and mentor fund controllers and teams across locations/time zones

- Build succession plans, career paths, and a high-performance culture

- Implement structured learning paths (PE accounting standards, waterfalls, systems)

Qualifications & Experience (Strict) :

- CA with max 4 attempts | 12-15 years of experience

- Exclusive Private Equity Fund Accounting experience - no Hedge Fund / Mutual Fund

- Team handling experience is mandatory (3+ years as AVP can be considered for VP)

- Deep knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS, ASC 946/820, waterfall mechanics, carried interest, equalizations, and side letter economics

- Hands-on fluency with PE accounting platforms (Investran, Allvue, eFront, Yardi, Workiva) and BI tools (Power BI/Tableau)

- Proven capability to manage global teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders

- Strong global exposure with strong functional focus
