Job Title: Vice President - Portfolio Management (Investments)

Location: Bengaluru

Experience: 8+ years overall; at least 4 years in portfolio management, portfolio operations, business finance, strategy, consulting or a similar role working closely with multiple startups or businesses.

Job Description:

We are looking for a senior professional to work closely with the founders and leadership teams of our portfolio companies. This is a hands-on, founder-facing role focused on understanding each business in depth and helping founders with financial performance, strategy, hiring and execution priorities.

The role goes beyond MIS preparation and formal board reviews. The person will maintain regular working discussions with multiple portfolio companies, track agreed actions, identify emerging risks and opportunities, and keep the Managing Partners updated. The role will also contribute selectively to investment evaluation and portfolio decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop a detailed understanding of portfolio companies' business models, financials, operating metrics, strategies, teams and key risks.

- Build a regular engagement cadence with founders and leadership teams, including working discussions outside formal reviews and board meetings.

- Review financial performance, budgets, forecasts, cash runway, working capital, unit economics and operating KPIs.

- Work with founders to identify gaps and support action plans across growth, profitability, cash management, pricing, go-to-market and organisational priorities.

- Support leadership hiring and team-building priorities.

- Track agreed actions and raise delays, risks or support requirements early.

- Prepare concise updates for the Managing Partners on company performance, developments, risks and support required.

- Coordinate relevant support across the fund and its network, including hiring, fundraising, partnerships, finance and functional expertise.

- Contribute to portfolio reviews, board discussions and strategic planning.

- Support selected investment evaluations through business, financial and sector analysis.

Desired Candidate Profile:

- At least 4 years of direct experience supporting multiple startups, portfolio companies or businesses on financial and operating matters.

- Strong finance background and ability to interpret financial statements, budgets, forecasts, cash flow and operating metrics.

- Experience in venture capital or private equity portfolio operations, startup finance or strategy, management consulting, business leadership, or a multi-company operating role.

- Strong founder-facing communication and relationship-building skills.

- Able to manage multiple companies and priorities while maintaining follow-through.

- Strong judgement, structured problem-solving and written communication.

- Comfortable engaging in business details and working directly with founders, beyond reporting and board preparation.
