Reports To: Managing Director / CMD

Role Objective:

To provide strategic leadership, operational excellence, and overall management of the Copper & Aluminium Wire Manufacturing plants. The role focuses on driving productivity, efficiency, quality, cost optimization, compliance, and employee engagement to ensure smooth and profitable operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Plant Operations Management:

- Lead end-to-end operations of all the manufacturing plants, including production, maintenance, quality assurance, supply chain, human resources, and EHS (Environment, Health & Safety).

- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, and materials to achieve production targets within defined cost and quality standards.

- Drive operational excellence through lean manufacturing, TPM, Kaizen, and Six Sigma practices.

2. Production & Quality:

- Develop, implement, and monitor production plans aligned with business objectives.

- Ensure adherence to quality standards as per ISO / QMS / EMS / OHSAS / BIS / IATF / customer-specific requirements.

- Establish strong process controls to reduce rejection rates, scrap, and rework.

- Coordinate with NPD / Technology teams for product development and process improvement.

3. Cost & Efficiency Management:

- Optimize operating costs by improving yield, energy efficiency, and waste management.

- Develop strategies for cost reduction without compromising on quality or safety.

- Monitor and control plant budgets, production expenses, and resource utilization.

4. Supply Chain & Inventory Management:

- Ensure timely availability of raw materials (copper, aluminium, Enamel, chemicals, etc.) through coordination with procurement.

- Maintain optimum stock levels of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.

- Strengthen vendor development and logistics management for smooth supply chain operations.

5. People Leadership:

- Provide leadership and direction to HODs, managers, engineers, and shop floor workforce.

- Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous learning.

- Drive training & skill development initiatives for employees at all levels.

- Handle industrial relations (IR) and maintain a harmonious working environment.

6. Compliance & Safety:

- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (Labour Laws, Pollution Control, Factory Act, ISO requirements etc.).

- Drive EHS standards and promote a safe working environment.

- Implement sustainability initiatives in line with ESG goals.

7. Strategy & Growth:

- Collaborate with top management to define long-term strategy for capacity expansion, modernization, and diversification.

- Lead CapEx projects related to plant expansion, automation, and new product lines.

- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and technological advancements.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

- Achievement of production & dispatch targets.

- Reduction in cost of production per unit.

- On-time delivery performance (OTD).

- Plant yield improvement & scrap reduction.

- Compliance with safety & quality standards.

- Employee engagement, retention, and skill development.

- Successful execution of CapEx / expansion projects.

Desired Candidate Profile:

Education:

- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Production Engineering.

- MBA / PGDM in Operations / General Management (preferred).

Experience:

- 18-25 years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 8-10 years in leadership roles.

- Strong exposure to Winding Wires / Wires & Cables / Any other process Industry / Manufacturing Industry or similar industry.

- Proven track record in managing large-scale operations, people, and profitability with turnover of NLT 1500 Cr and employee's strength of more than 1000.

Skills & Competencies:

- Strong leadership & decision-making abilities.

- Deep understanding of casting / melting process, wire drawing, stranding, bunching, annealing, and related processes.

- Excellent knowledge of cost control, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies.

- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.

- Ability to build and lead high-performance teams.

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.

- Preferred Software Knowledge: MS Office, Microsoft ERP

- Preferred Language Proficiency (Written & Verbal): English, Hindi

- Other Specific Requirement: Six Sigma Black Belt, Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, SMED, Tyota Production System, 7 QC Tools, 8D Tools, 5S, Kaizen, POKA-YOKE, Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC), Customer Complaint Handling, IATF 16949, Root Cause Analysis, CAPA, must have worked as Vice President - Operations / Plant Head.
