- Any API manufacturing / Excipient Manufacturing

- Knowledge of setting up new manufacturing blocks capacity, planning, equipment mapping for new and current blocks including equipment mapping and new products

- Strong knowledge in the regulatory market

Job Summary:

The Vice President Operations will be responsible for leading end-to-end manufacturing and operational activities for the pharmaceutical excipient business. The role includes overseeing new production, engineering, quality coordination, EHS, maintenance, and operational excellence initiatives to ensure efficient, compliant, and cost-effective manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate should possess deep expertise in pharmaceutical excipients, speciality chemicals, GMP manufacturing, and large-scale plant operations with a strong focus on productivity, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Manufacturing Operations:

- Lead daily manufacturing operations across all production blocks.

- Ensure production targets are achieved in alignment with quality and safety standards.

- Optimise plant utilisation, throughput, and operational efficiency.

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes.

Production Planning & Supply Chain:

- Oversee production planning, inventory management, and material availability.

- Coordinate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure uninterrupted operations.

- Improve OTIF (On-Time In-Full) delivery performance.

- Monitor demand forecasting and capacity planning.

Quality & Regulatory Compliance:

- Ensure adherence to GMP, IPEC, ISO, USFDA, and customer quality requirements.

- Support QA/QC teams during audits, inspections, and customer visits.

- Drive compliance culture across operations.

- Ensure proper documentation, SOP implementation, and deviation management.

Engineering & Maintenance:

- Lead CAPEX planning and execution for expansion and modernisation projects.

- Oversee plant engineering, utilities, preventive maintenance, and equipment reliability.

- Improve productivity by reducing operational downtime.

EHS (Environment, Health & Safety):

- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

- Promote strong workplace safety culture and zero-incident operations.

- Lead sustainability and energy optimisation initiatives.

Team Leadership:

- Lead and mentor cross-functional operations teams.

- Build succession planning and leadership development programs.

- Foster accountability, collaboration, and a performance-driven culture.

Qualifications:

- Masters/Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering.

- 15-20 years of experience in pharmaceutical excipients, APIs, speciality chemicals, or pharma manufacturing.

- Minimum 5+ years in a senior operations leadership role.
