Role Overview:
As the Vice President of Operations based in Kolkata, you will serve as the strategic leader overseeing the entire operational lifecycle of our manufacturing facilities. You will be responsible for driving the P&L performance, ensuring seamless integration of supply chain processes, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. This role involves close collaboration with executive leadership, plant managers, and external stakeholders to optimize production efficiency, streamline workflows, and ensure that our operational output aligns with the company's long-term financial and growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end P&L management for the business unit to ensure profitability and cost-efficiency across all plant operations.
- Direct the implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and process excellence initiatives to minimize downtime and maximize asset utilization.
- Oversee the integration of SAP SCM modules to enhance supply chain visibility, inventory accuracy, and demand planning precision.
- Champion a culture of safety and compliance by enforcing rigorous EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) protocols across all operational sites.
- Manage complex stakeholder relationships, including regulatory bodies, vendors, and internal leadership, to ensure smooth project execution and operational continuity.
- Drive continuous improvement programs to elevate product quality standards and reduce operational waste throughout the manufacturing cycle.
Required Skillset:
- Proven ability to manage large-scale industrial operations with a minimum of 20 to 25 years of experience in manufacturing or heavy industry environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in financial acumen, specifically in managing P&L statements and capital expenditure budgets for multi-site operations.
- Strong proficiency in SAP SCM and ERP systems to drive data-backed decision-making and operational transparency.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to mentor large, cross-functional teams and foster a high-performance work culture.
- Advanced knowledge of TPM methodologies, Lean manufacturing, and international quality standards.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, essential for managing high-level stakeholder expectations and regulatory compliance.
- An engineering background, preferably with an MBA from a premier institute, is highly preferred to navigate the technical and commercial complexities of the role.
- Ability to work on-site in Kolkata, providing hands-on leadership to plant operations and regional teams.
