- This senior leadership role is designed for an accomplished and highly experienced professional who has built a career exclusively in injectable manufacturing operations.


- With responsibility for multiple plants and production lines, the Vice President will play a critical role in ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and strategic scaling of injectable manufacturing capabilities.

- The role is ideal for an individual who thrives in high-impact environments, demonstrates strong leadership across large-scale pharma operations, and has a proven track record of managing complex injectable production systems.

Key Responsibilities:


As Vice President - Manufacturing Operations (Injectables), you will be entrusted with driving manufacturing excellence across multiple sites and operations. Your key responsibilities will include:

1. Strategic Leadership in Manufacturing Operations


- Provide overall leadership and strategic direction to injectable manufacturing operations across multiple plants.


- Ensure alignment of manufacturing operations with organizational growth strategies and global standards.


- Build long-term capacity and capability planning to support the expansion of injectable product lines.

- Establish a culture of excellence, safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.

2. Multi-Plant Management


- Oversee end-to-end operations of multiple injectable manufacturing plants.

- Standardize processes, systems, and quality frameworks across all plants to ensure consistency.

- Drive operational synergies between different facilities to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.

- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including yield, throughput, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), and plant utilization.

3. Production & Process Management


- Lead production teams in achieving manufacturing targets for injectables across diverse dosage forms.


- Ensure flawless execution of technology transfer, scale-up, and validation activities for new products.

- Implement best practices in aseptic processing, sterile manufacturing, and cleanroom operations.

- Drive operational excellence initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and automation.

4. Regulatory Compliance & Quality Governance


- Ensure strict compliance with national and international regulatory guidelines (USFDA, EU-GMP, MHRA, WHO, TGA, etc.).


- Collaborate closely with Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs teams to ensure audit readiness.

- Build robust compliance frameworks that stand up to inspections by regulatory authorities worldwide.

- Maintain highest standards of product quality, safety, and efficacy across all plants.

5. People Leadership & Organizational Development

- Lead large, diverse teams across multiple plants, including plant heads, production managers, and technical staff.

- Mentor and groom future leaders in manufacturing operations.

- Create an environment that promotes employee engagement, skill development, and operational ownership.

- Ensure adequate workforce planning, training, and capability building for injectables manufacturing.

6. Operational Efficiency & Cost Leadership

- Optimize resource utilization across multiple plants to achieve cost competitiveness.

- Implement energy-efficient, sustainable manufacturing practices.

- Leverage digital transformation and Industry 4.0 technologies to enhance productivity and transparency.

- Drive profitability without compromising compliance and quality.

7. Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Work closely with R&D, Supply Chain, Regulatory, and Business Leadership teams to align operations with corporate goals.

- Collaborate with business heads for seamless integration of manufacturing with go-to-market strategies.

- Ensure transparent communication with senior leadership regarding performance, risks, and opportunities.

8. Innovation & Continuous Improvement

- Stay updated with global developments in injectable manufacturing technologies.

- Champion innovation in processes, equipment, and methodologies to keep plants globally

competitive.

- Drive initiatives for digital integration, automation, and data-driven decision-making.

- Foster a mindset of continuous improvement across all plants.

Ideal Candidate Profile:


Educational Qualifications:


- Bachelor's / Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or related field.


- Additional certifications in GMP, Lean Manufacturing, or Executive Leadership will be advantageous.
Professional Experience


- 25 to 30+ years of exclusive experience in injectable manufacturing operations.

- Proven track record of managing multiple injectable manufacturing plants at leadership level.

- Hands-on experience with large-scale sterile/aseptic manufacturing environments.

- Extensive exposure to international regulatory frameworks and inspections (USFDA, EMA, WHO, MHRA, etc.).

- Prior experience in a large-scale pharmaceutical conglomerate or leading injectables manufacturer preferred.

- Injectables Manufacturing Expertise: Deep technical knowledge of aseptic processing, sterile filling, lyophilization, and related processes.
