Overview
As a Vice President in the Investment Team, you will play a key role in identifying, evaluating, and executing investment opportunities for the fund. This position is ideal for professionals with strong analytical and credit evaluation skills who are now seeking to apply their experience in a growth equity / venture capital investing context.
You will be responsible for conducting high-quality primary and secondary research, developing investment themes, and building a transaction pipeline. The role will also include leading or supporting deal execution, due diligence, and portfolio management, with significant exposure to founders and CXOs of portfolio companies.
A major portion of your time will be dedicated to research-driven idea generation and transaction execution, requiring strong judgment, communication skills, and comfort working across multiple sectors.
Desired Profile
- Experience: 7-9 years of relevant experience in credit research, credit risk, investment research, or transaction diligence, ideally at a rating agency, bank, NBFC, or investment firm.
- Education: Strong academic credentials with a postgraduate qualification (MBA/CA/CFA preferred).
- Demonstrated exposure to financial analysis, credit underwriting, valuations, financial modeling, and business diligence.
- Experience assessing companies in sectors such as financial services, agri-value chain, manufacturing, or consumer goods.
- Proven ability to interact with founders, CFOs, and senior management teams.
- Excellent report writing, analytical, and presentation skills.
- Strong understanding of balance sheets, cash-flow dynamics, and credit risk metrics; ability to translate analytical insights into investment judgment.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with an active interest in investing in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and emerging growth businesses.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop sector-specific investment research and sub-segment theses to identify potential opportunities.
- Conduct deep-dive industry, financial, and competitive analyses, including credit assessment, business model evaluation, and peer benchmarking.
- Support or lead end-to-end deal evaluation and execution, from initial screening to diligence and documentation.
- Work with investment leaders on business and financial due diligence, risk underwriting, and coordination with legal, tax, and technical advisors.
- Build and maintain detailed financial models and investment memoranda.
- Engage with portfolio companies to monitor performance, evaluate business metrics, and track milestones post-investment.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly portfolio updates, valuation support, and investor reporting materials.
- Contribute to the fund's research publications, internal IC papers, and thought-leadership initiatives.
