About the Role:
Haus of Talent is partnering with an India-focused venture capital fund to hire a Vice President Investments. The fund invests in technology-led businesses across climate, sustainability, clean energy, mobility, industrial innovation and related sectors. It works closely with entrepreneurs and ecosystem partners to help portfolio companies scale and create long-term commercial and environmental impact.
The Vice President Investments will work closely with the funds senior leadership across deal sourcing, investment evaluation, transaction execution and portfolio management.
Key Responsibilities:
Deal Sourcing:
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of investment opportunities.
- Source opportunities through founders, accelerators, incubators, co-investors, advisors and sector networks.
- Track emerging themes across climate, sustainability, energy, mobility and industrial innovation.
- Represent the fund at relevant industry events, demo days and ecosystem forums.
- Develop long-term relationships with founders, investors, operators and sector experts.
Investment Evaluation and Execution:
- Lead commercial, financial and strategic diligence on prospective investments.
- Evaluate business models, markets, competition, technology, founding teams, financial performance and regulatory considerations.
- Assess market size, scalability, capital intensity, technology risk, unit economics and exit potential.
- Prepare investment memoranda and present recommendations to the Investment Committee.
- Build and review financial models, valuation scenarios and investment return cases.
- Support term-sheet discussions, transaction structuring and negotiations.
- Coordinate legal, financial, commercial and technical diligence with external advisors where required.
Portfolio Management and Support:
- Work with portfolio founders on fundraising, leadership hiring, partnerships, go-to-market strategy and business development.
- Monitor operating, financial and impact-related performance.
- Identify emerging risks and support founders on critical business priorities.
- Facilitate relevant introductions to investors, customers and strategic partners.
Sector Research and Fund Building:
- Develop investment perspectives across relevant sectors and emerging themes.
- Contribute to sector research, thematic reports and investment-thesis development.
- Strengthen the funds network across founders, investors, operators and ecosystem partners.
- Support the development of internal investment processes and portfolio-review systems.
Candidate Profile:
- 814 years of experience in investing, finance or strategic roles involving business and investment evaluation.
- Strong experience in due diligence, investment analysis and investment-memo preparation.
- Experience evaluating or executing early-stage investments, particularly from Pre-Seed to Series A.
- Strong financial modelling, valuation and analytical capabilities.
- Ability to assess founders, business models, markets, competition, regulations and unit economics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership within a lean investment team.
- Comfort working directly with founders and early-stage businesses.
- Genuine interest in technology-led solutions addressing climate, sustainability, energy or industrial challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior exposure to climate technology, clean energy, mobility, industrial technology, manufacturing, infrastructure or sustainability.
- Academic background in engineering (must).
- Experience sourcing and executing multiple early-stage investments.
- Experience preparing Investment Committee memoranda and working on term sheets, transaction structuring and portfolio monitoring.
- A relevant network across founders, investors, incubators, lenders, family offices and sector experts.
- Ability to evaluate technology-led businesses from both commercial and technical perspectives.

Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will combine strong early-stage investment experience with meaningful exposure to technology-led sectors. They should be able to engage confidently with founders, conduct rigorous diligence, develop clear investment arguments, prepare high-quality investment memoranda and support portfolio companies after investment.
This is a hands-on role within a lean investment team and requires strong ownership, intellectual curiosity and sound commercial judgement.
