Position Overview"
The Vice President - Human Resources will be responsible for leading the HR function across a large, multi-location fertilizer manufacturing organization with significant business scale and workforce strength. As a key member of the leadership team, the incumbent will play a strategic role in shaping the people agenda, driving organizational culture, and aligning HR practices with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic HR Leadership: Develop and execute the HR strategy in alignment with the organization's business goals and long-term vision. Provide guidance to the Board and senior management on people-related strategy.
- Talent Management & Development: Build robust talent identification, succession planning, and leadership development frameworks across plants and corporate functions to ensure future-ready capability.
- Employee Relations & Engagement: Drive a culture of performance, transparency, and collaboration. Maintain harmonious industrial relations across plants, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements relating to labor laws.
- Organization Development: Lead initiatives in organizational design, change management, and cultural transformation to support business growth and productivity improvements.
- Compensation & Benefits: Design and implement competitive and equitable reward systems to attract, motivate, and retain top talent, balancing internal parity and external competitiveness.
- HR Operations & Compliance: Oversee HR operations including recruitment, payroll, policies, and systems. Ensure adherence to legal, ethical, and compliance standards across all units.
- Technology & Process Excellence: Leverage HR technology and analytics to enable data-driven decision-making and efficiency in people processes.
- Stakeholder Management: Partner closely with functional and plant heads, trade unions (where applicable), and external stakeholders to foster an environment of trust and growth.
Candidate Profile:
- Education: Full-time MBA/PGDM in Human Resources from a reputed institution.
- Experience: Minimum 16 years of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably in large-scale manufacturing or process industries.
Competencies needed:
- Strong understanding of industrial relations and labor laws in India
- Proven ability in managing multi-plant HR operations at scale
- Strategic orientation with strong execution and people leadership skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management capabilities
- Ability to drive change and lead HR transformation in a dynamic business environment

Reports to: Managing Director / CEO
Team: HR leaders across plants and corporate office
Works closely with: Business heads, Plant Directors, Finance, Operations, and external labor bodies
