VP: Startup Fundraising & Exits | Energy Transition VC | Bangalore

About the Role:

We are hiring for a senior platform role with a Bangalore-based venture capital fund focused on energy transition, climate-tech, clean energy, mobility, deeptech, decarbonisation and sustainability-led businesses.

The fund has built a strong early portfolio and is now looking to create a dedicated Fundraise & Exits platform to support its portfolio companies as they scale from early-stage to Series A / B / C and beyond.

This is not a conventional role alone. The fund is also open to someone entrepreneurial who can come in and build this function almost like an internal venture / platform, working closely with the Managing Partners and portfolio founders.

Key Responsibilities:

- Work closely with portfolio founders on Series A / B / C fundraising strategy.

- Help companies refine their fundraise narrative, business plan, financial model, valuation positioning and investor materials.

- Prepare portfolio companies for investor outreach, diligence, data rooms and transaction readiness.

- Identify and engage relevant investors including VCs, growth funds, PE funds, strategic investors, family offices and sector-focused capital pools.

- Manage and coordinate with investment bankers, advisors and external transaction partners where required.

- Support portfolio companies on capital structuring, bridge rounds, venture debt, structured finance and strategic capital.

- Work with founders and the fund team on M&A, secondary sale, strategic partnership and exit planning.

- Track portfolio company fundraise milestones and help drive accountability on capital raise processes.

- Build a repeatable fundraising / exits playbook for the portfolio.

- Work closely with the Managing Partners, investment team and portfolio team to identify where fundraise / exit support can be added.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

- 8 - 15 years of experience across investment banking, M&A advisory, startup fundraising, corporate development, VC / PE portfolio support, strategic finance or capital markets.

- Must have front-ended fundraising / transaction processes, not only supported through decks, models or backend execution.

- Experience working on startup fundraising, Series A / B / C, growth capital, M&A, secondary transactions or exits.

- Strong understanding of investor requirements, valuation discussions, diligence processes, transaction documentation and closure dynamics.

- Strong network across investment banks, boutique advisory firms, VC / growth investors, PE funds, family offices, strategics and lenders.

- Experience in climate-tech, clean energy, EV, energy storage, hydrogen, mobility, industrials, deeptech, infra-tech or sustainability is preferred.

- Candidates from strong IB / advisory platforms, VC portfolio teams, founder-side fundraising roles or corporate development teams will be considered.

- Ability to work directly with founders, CXOs and Managing Partners.

- Strong commercial judgment, relationship-building ability and execution ownership.

- Entrepreneurial mindset; should be comfortable building a function from scratch.

Location:

Bangalore. This is an on-site / fund-office-based role, with travel as required for portfolio companies, investor meetings and ecosystem engagement.

Important Note:

The fund is looking for someone who has led transactions end-to-end. Candidates who have only worked on backend modelling, pitch decks or diligence support without front-ending fundraise / transaction processes may not be the right fit.
