Vice President - Finance, Finance Controller Role Name: VP - Finance (Finance Controller) Location: Bengaluru Reporting to: CFO Key Relationships: Executive Committee and Other Leadership Team Members Key Responsibilities: Statutory Audit: - Work closely with the various business units & statutory auditors to manage the Quarterly audit closures & manage Audit committee requirements Cash Flow & Continuous Improvement: - Identify and drive cost improvement opportunities, be an active contributor to improvement projects and initiatives, validate, review and track proposed savings. - Challenge assumptions for cost improvements across locations based on internal and external benchmark information on the Unit/Business Vertical performance and costs. Reporting and Analytics: - Manage the Group's reporting of actuals and forecasts for ACT; ensure transparency, accuracy and timeliness of this process; follow up and monitoring of progress to close gaps, ensuring ACT's financial policies, Accounting Standards and Costing Standards are followed by promoting ownership of data at source. Taxation: - Managing and overseeing Direct Taxation and liaising with authorities/external agencies /Statutory & Internal Auditors. Play a vital role in complex tax calculations/ documentation for strategic projects like business restructuring, acquisitions, capital gains, review of contracts, etc. - Responsible for overseeing the Indirect Taxes for the Group including Tax Planning and Optimisation, GST Rules and Regulations understanding, Day to day returns, Assessment and Litigation and SAP Process understanding. Treasury Function & Insurance: - Lead the Treasury Function by supervising the overall treasury activities including enhancing yields by deployment of surplus funds, minimize cost of borrowings, improve liquidity and maintain banking relationship & networking. - Ensure adequate insurance coverage of all assets of the Group within competitive rates. Revenue Assurance: - Revenue Assurance Team is responsible for identifying areas of improvement in company revenues and margins. Through analysis and creation of new audits and reports, the Revenue Assurance Team ensures accurate billing to customers. Strategic Evaluations: - Lead strategic financial analysis relating to major or strategic decisions related to the Group to ensure full transparency of costs and non-financial implications. Internal Controls: - Ensure clear control and visibility of assets and liabilities, including the development, implementation and compliance with internal controls in all areas. Accountable for Segregation of Duties (SODs) and assessment of compensating control effectiveness. - This includes driving the Internal Audit Function and establishing a solid & periodic monitoring of the internal controls effectiveness and appropriately escalating business risks. Compliance: - Manage routine audit activities within the Group to ensure compliance on critical areas viz. Accounting Standards, Costing Standards, Statutory Reporting & accounting, Income Tax & GST laws and appropriately escalate business risks. As the Champion of compliance & risk management for the Group , h/she is the key contact for internal and external audits within the Group. Development and Talent: - Coach and develop the Group's personnel with focus on finance individuals & team including career and succession planning. Knowledge Transfer: - Drive clear understanding of financial key figures and costing within the Group, including organizing training sessions for non-specialists. Educational & Experience requirements: - Must be a Chartered Accountant - Proven track-record in managing growth in a B2C space with at least 14 years of total work experience in a competitive industry in India. Preferably with experience in FMCG / Consumer Durables / DTH/E-Commerce / Telecom - Track-record of at least 5 years in a Finance Controllership role - It is preferred that the candidates have worked extensively in multicultural and complex environment - Functional expertise in Finance in B2C space, relationship management with regulatory authorities and at the same time abilities to lead projects and dispersed teams.
