Job Description :

Key Responsibilities :

Strategic Finance & Business Partnership :

- Partner closely with the CEO and leadership team to drive strategic planning, financial decision-making, and business growth initiatives.

- Develop long-term financial strategies aligned with organizational objectives and expansion plans.

- Build and manage annual operating plans, budgets, forecasts, and financial models.

- Monitor business performance, profitability, cash flow, and key financial metrics.

- Own unit economics, contribution margin analysis, and city-level profitability tracking.

- Provide actionable insights to support capital allocation and investment decisions.

Finance Function Setup & Leadership :

- Establish and lead the Finance, Accounting, Taxation, and Compliance functions from the ground up.

- Design and implement scalable financial processes, policies, SOPs, and internal control frameworks.

- Build a high-performing finance team capable of supporting rapid business growth.

- Ensure efficient financial operations and reporting mechanisms across the organization.

Accounting, Taxation & Compliance :

- Oversee end-to-end accounting operations, financial reporting, and month-end/year-end closing processes.

- Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESIC, ROC, and other statutory requirements.

- Manage ledger reconciliations, invoice processing, vendor payments, and financial controls.

- Develop taxation frameworks and compliance processes relevant to complex operational models.

- Maintain complete audit readiness for statutory, internal, tax, and investor audits.

- Ensure adherence to Companies Act provisions and evolving regulatory requirements.

Fundraising & Investor Relations :

- Support fundraising initiatives by preparing financial models, investor presentations, data rooms, and due diligence documentation.

- Coordinate with investors, auditors, legal advisors, and external consultants.

- Prepare board reports, management information systems (MIS), and business performance dashboards.

- Drive timely and accurate investor reporting and governance compliance.

- Assist leadership in evaluating fundraising opportunities and capital structuring strategies.

Financial Planning & Analysis :

- Build robust forecasting models to support strategic and operational decision-making.

- Analyze revenue trends, cost structures, margins, and profitability drivers.

- Track business KPIs and provide recommendations for operational efficiency and cost optimization.

- Develop performance reporting frameworks for management and stakeholders.

Automation & Process Excellence :

- Collaborate with technology teams to automate finance operations and reporting systems.

- Drive digitization initiatives for payment processing, procurement workflows, revenue tracking, and financial reporting.

- Implement scalable tools and dashboards to improve transparency and decision-making.

- Reduce manual processes through workflow automation and system integrations.

Cost Management & Controls :

- Design and implement financial controls across warehousing, logistics, fleet management, labor, technology, and operational functions.

- Establish cost-monitoring frameworks to improve efficiency and profitability.

- Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining operational effectiveness.

Required Qualifications :

- Chartered Accountant (CA).

- progressive experience in Finance, Accounting, FP&A, Compliance, and Strategic Finance.

- Strong understanding of Indian taxation, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and financial reporting standards.

- Experience managing audits, statutory filings, and investor reporting.

- Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and business planning.

- Hands-on experience with Tally, Zoho Books, Advanced Excel, and financial reporting tools.

- Strong analytical, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience building finance functions from scratch in startup environments.

- Exposure to fundraising, due diligence, and investor management.

- Knowledge of startup financing instruments, ESOPs, venture funding structures, and corporate governance practices.

- Experience in reverse logistics, waste management, recycling, commodities, marketplace, or supply chain-driven businesses will be an advantage.
