VP - Equity Capital Markets (Pharma, Healthcare, Consumer)

Location: Mumbai

About The Role:

The Vice President - Equity Capital Markets will be responsible for driving sector-focused business development, client coverage, origination and execution across the Pharma, Healthcare and Consumer sectors. The role will involve developing relationships with corporates and financial sponsors, identifying and converting new mandates, preparing strategic and transaction-related pitches, and leading end-to-end execution across equity capital markets, private equity and M&A advisory transactions. The candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders and clients, providing solutions across fundraising, capital structuring, valuations and strategic transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Drive origination and business development across Pharma, Healthcare and Consumer sectors through corporate and sponsor outreach and relationship development.

- Build and maintain senior-level relationships with existing and prospective clients and generate a consistent pipeline of mandates.

- Lead end-to-end transaction execution across IPOs, FPOs, Rights Issues, QIPs, Private Equity, M&A and JV transactions.

- Develop financial models, business models, valuation analyses and optimal capital structure recommendations.

- Prepare high-quality pitch books, transaction presentations, CIMs, roadshow materials and investment committee presentations.

- Develop and present transaction proposals, pricing and valuation analyses to clients and senior stakeholders.

- Understand client requirements and recommend appropriate capital market or strategic transaction solutions.

- Coordinate with multiple stakeholders including clients, investors, legal advisors, consultants and other transaction parties to ensure timely execution.

- Support due diligence, transaction documentation review and negotiations.

- Conduct sector, industry and company research to identify opportunities and develop actionable transaction ideas.

- Arrange and participate in senior-level client meetings, pitches and roadshows, with willingness to travel frequently for client engagements.

- Maintain strong awareness of capital market developments, sector trends and the broader business environment.

- Use platforms such as Bloomberg, FactSet, VCCEdge, Tracxn, Private Circle and Capital IQ for market, company and transaction research.

Qualifications & Experience:

- CA or MBA with a strong specialization in Finance; an MBA in Marketing/Finance from a reputed B-school would be relevant.

- 10 - 15 years of relevant experience in Equity Capital Markets / Investment Banking / Corporate Finance.

- Strong experience in Pharma, Healthcare and/or Consumer sectors, with the ability to understand sector dynamics, companies and business models.

- Demonstrated experience across capital market products including IPO, FPO, Rights Issues, QIP, Private Equity and M&A advisory.

- Strong financial modelling, valuation, financial statement analysis and transaction structuring skills.

- Prior experience in client coverage, business development, mandate origination and end-to-end deal execution.

- Proven track record of originating mandates and/or participating in successful ECM transactions.

- Ability to independently prepare and deliver high-quality pitches and transaction materials.

- Strong negotiation, coordination and stakeholder management skills.

- Ability to manage multiple mandates simultaneously, work under tight timelines and respond effectively to fast-moving situations.

- Commercial orientation with strong understanding of the business environment.

- Strong execution orientation with the ability to take ownership from origination through transaction closure.

- Willingness to travel frequently for client meetings and pitches.

- Preference for candidates with prior sell-side investment banking experience in the Healthcare, Pharma and Consumer sectors and a demonstrated record of ECM deal closures.
