Position Overview

The Head - Environmental Testing will lead and manage the overall operations, technical functions, compliance, and strategic growth of the environmental testing division.

The role involves overseeing multi-disciplinary environmental monitoring and laboratory analysis programs in alignment with applicable statutory, regulatory and standards requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Leadership & Strategic Management

- Lead and supervise environmental testing operations, including field monitoring teams, laboratory personnel, Business Development and QC functions.

- Develop strategic business plans, annual budgets, and operational goals for testing services.

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance capabilities and service quality.

2. Regulatory Compliance & Accreditation

- Ensure compliance and oversee implementation of ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory quality systems and maintain accreditation status.

- Ensure all testing and reporting meet CPCB, SPCB, MoEF&CC, and international regulatory standards as applicable.

3. Environmental Monitoring & Testing Oversight

Oversee end-to-end execution of projects for compliance to contractual obligations.

4. Client Management & Reporting

- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of reports to clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities.

- Provide technical interpretations, corrective action recommendations, and regulatory guidance.

- Build and maintain strong client relationships to drive business growth.

5. Technology, Equipment, and Safety

- Be responsible for testing equipment and other technology procurements, use and maintenance.

- Ensure field and laboratory teams follow strict safety protocols and SOPs.

6. Administrative and Managerial functions

Perform the full complement of administrative and managerial functions as head of the division.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

- Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline.

- Additional qualifications or certifications recognized by QCI/NABET preferred.

Experience

- 20 years or more of progressive experience in environmental testing, monitoring, and regulatory compliance.

- Proven experience leading environmental testing operations in multi-sector environments.

- Strong knowledge of Indian environmental regulations and international monitoring standards.
