VP Risk Management
The role will have broad ownership across Credit Risk, Enterprise Risk, Operational Risk, Liquidity Risk and Compliance Risk, with a strong focus on risk governance, regulatory compliance, portfolio monitoring and Board-level risk reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework and Risk Appetite Framework.
- Establish and strengthen the organisation's risk monitoring and governance framework.
- Monitor and manage Credit, Operational, Liquidity, Compliance and other key enterprise risks.
- Conduct portfolio risk reviews, stress testing and Early Warning Signal (EWS) monitoring.
- Prepare and present risk reports and key risk insights to Senior Management and Board/Risk Management Committees.
- Oversee the Credit Audit function, ensuring adherence to credit policies, underwriting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with RBI Master Directions, Circulars, Prudential Norms, Scale Based Regulation (SBR), Corporate Governance Guidelines and other applicable regulations.
- Supervise timely submission of RBI returns, regulatory filings, responses and compliance certifications.
- Coordinate RBI inspections, supervisory reviews and regulatory audits, including implementation and closure of observations.
- Liaise with RBI, statutory/internal auditors and other regulatory authorities on risk and regulatory matters.
- Work closely with senior management and business teams to ensure appropriate risk-adjusted decision-making and governance.
- Provide independent risk oversight while balancing business growth, portfolio quality and regulatory expectations.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Senior Risk professional with experience across multiple risk domains, rather than a single specialist risk function.
- Strong experience in Enterprise Risk Management and Risk Appetite Framework implementation.
- Strong understanding of Credit Risk, Operational Risk, Liquidity Risk and Compliance/Regulatory Risk.
- Experience in ICAAP, stress testing, EWS and portfolio risk monitoring would be highly relevant.
- Exposure to Credit Audit either through direct leadership or oversight.
- Strong understanding of RBI regulations and NBFC regulatory framework, including SBR.
- Experience in handling RBI inspections/supervisory reviews and regulatory observations.
- Good exposure to Board/Risk Management Committee reporting and senior stakeholder management.
- Knowledge/experience of project appraisal, project monitoring and recovery is expected, although direct involvement in project appraisal will not be the primary responsibility of the role.
