They also work on the supply side - with Insurers - to develop relevant innovative and current insurance products. Within 3 years of business, they have partnered with 40+ insurance distributor companies from over 10 industries (within and beyond BFSI) in India, and have made insurance accessible to millennials, HNIs, first time insurance buyers, salaried individuals, rural population, blue-collar workers, home buyers, and multiple other customer segments. They are building up to be leaders in this segment in India and are now aiming to replicate this success story in the GCC market. Role details: - Title / Designation: VP of Engineering - Reporting Manager: CTO - Location: Indiqube Garden, Koramangala, Bengaluru Role & responsibilities: - Lead and manage a high-performing engineering team, setting priorities and providing technical guidance. - Develop and implement engineering processes and best practices to ensure quality and efficiency. - Collaborate with product, design, and business teams to define and execute the technology roadmap. - Drive innovation through research and development initiatives. - Ensure the stability, scalability, and security of the technology platform. - Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve the platform. - Work with Agile Scrum practices to define deliverables, outputs and outcomes. - Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to inform strategy and decision-making. - Collaborate with key stakeholders to establish budgets and allocate resources effectively. - Hire and develop talent to build a strong, diverse, and inclusive engineering team. Candidate requirements: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. - 15+ years of engineering management experience, with a proven track record of leading and scaling teams. - Past experience as a software engineer/ developer. - Experience with cloud computing, microservices, and data architecture. - Experience in managing performance and scalability requirements in cloud-based applications. - Experience designing/reviewing the design and architecture of the application. - Hands on experience in managing application security and CI/CD implementation. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. - Strong leadership skills and experience in managing and developing high-performing teams. - Extensive knowledge and expertise in SaaS, insurance technology, and insurance.
