
Role Purpose:
The role is responsible for leading the corporate lending business for the Chennai region, covering Mid, Large, and Strategic Corporate clients. The incumbent will drive new-to-bank acquisition, asset growth, fee and interest income, ensure portfolio quality, and provide strong leadership to a team of Relationship Managers.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Growth & Relationship Management:
1. Drive NTB acquisition and deepen existing relationships to grow assets, wallet share, and revenues.
2. Lead origination, structuring, and execution of corporate lending transactions across Corporate Loans, Project Finance, Structured Finance, Promoter/Funding, and Real Estate Funding.
3. Track market and industry trends to identify strategic and marquee opportunities.
Portfolio & Risk Management:
1. Ensure adherence to credit, risk, and compliance frameworks.
2. Proactively monitor portfolio performance, manage early warning signals, and drive timely recoveries and resolution of stressed accounts.
3. Maintain a healthy, profitable portfolio with focus on risk-adjusted returns.
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management:
1. Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Relationship Managers, driving performance against defined KPIs.
2. Coach the team on client engagement, deal structuring, and credit assessment.
3. Work closely with Credit, Risk, Legal, Operations, and Group entities for seamless deal execution.
4. Build and maintain relationships with CA firms, investment banks, and advisory partners to strengthen sourcing.
Key Requirements:
1. Extensive experience in Corporate / Wholesale Lending with exposure to Mid and Large Corporates.
2. Proven track record in business development, portfolio management, and team handling.
- Strong market connect in Chennai / South India.
3. Sound knowledge of credit appraisal, structuring, and risk management.
