He also leads the Finance Shared Services Centre with the objective of providing accurate, efficient and timely accounting services. Job Description & Responsibilities: - Monthly/Quarterly/Annual closure of books - Primary responsibility for implementing and maintaining finance policies, internal controls and procedures that comply with accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and industry standards. - Manage and review international subsidiaries finance, tax, compliance, and consolidation. - Sign off timelines for managing closing, reconciliation processes, reporting across the organization. - Review finance business process improvement initiatives, to ensure more agile finance systems, for delivering against metrics and compliances. - Provide assistance during M&A and proactively identify changes and issues that may arise on account of changes in global business models, finance technology, accounting/reporting and compliances - Review and improve the quality of consolidated balance sheet by reviewing and identifying improvement. - Maintain a strong professional relationship with statutory auditors and partner with them to drive organization wide audits and review results and remedial plans. - Mentor and guide the internal auditors proactively and provide adequate support during accounts closing, reporting and internal audit matters, remedial plan implementation. - Ensure accurate and timely quarterly/annual closing and reporting of company financials to finance bodies and ensure its compliant with the accounting standards & regulatory requirements. - Ensure all accounting policies and procedures are documented and updated on a regular basis. - Publish assigned financial reports to management and board of directors (ad-hoc) - Review Annual reports prior submission to the CFO. - Review shares in subsidiaries to local accounts and impairments if any, review Intercompany transactions and impairments if any opportunities in subsidiary financials (optimization of payables, tax balances, debtors etc) - Detailed review of the above financial statements and reports to ensure that they are prepared accurately and completely. - Preparation of Monthly/Qtly/Annual review reports as per agreed timelines. - Working closely with the Chief Financial officer (CFO) and or other executives regarding any accounting or bookkeeping queries and other reporting requirements. - Monitoring the financial health of the organization by tracking cash flow, budgets, and other financial data - Preparing budgets for approval by Senior management. - Participating in strategic planning meetings with other members of the executive team to develop long-term goals for the company. - Ensuring and Monitoring compliance with applicable laws and regulations for the legal entities handled - Coordinating with external Statutory auditors to ensure that audits are performed and completed within the agreed timelines. - Monitoring trends in the industry to identify new opportunities for growth for the company. - Leads global controllership initiatives around uniform accounting policy in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
