1. Business Development & Revenue Growth :

- Drive the identification, pursuit, and closure of large-scale WTE, MSW, and integrated waste management contracts - municipal PPP concessions, industrial waste management, biomedical, C&D, and RDF-to-energy - across India.


- Lead bid strategy and proposal development for tenders above Rs 100 Cr, including Viability Gap Funding (VGF) models, BOT/DBFO/O&M structures, and hybrid annuity concessions.

- Establish and manage a robust pipeline of Rs 2,000-3,000 Cr in annual BD targets; own the full funnel from market intelligence to contract signing.

- Develop and manage relationships with Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), state municipal departments, NMCG, MoHUA, smart city SPVs, and industrial clusters across Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities.

- Identify and evaluate acquisition targets, JV/partnership opportunities, and distressed WTE asset plays (including IBC/NCLT resolution opportunities - similar to Kundan's Jabalpur model).

2. Corporate Strategy & Market Positioning :

- Own the 3-5 year strategic roadmap - capacity expansion targets, new geography entry, new waste stream adjacencies (bio-CNG, C&D recycling, e-waste, hazardous), and revenue mix optimisation.

- Lead strategic analysis on emerging WTE models: carbon credits from WTE (under India's carbon market launched Dec 2023), waste-to-hydrogen, co-processing in cement kilns, and bio-LNG.

- Develop investor-ready strategy narratives for PE fundraising, green bond roadshows, and pre-IPO documentation.

- Benchmark the company's MW capacity, TPD throughput, and revenue metrics against global operators (Reworld, China Everbright, MVV Energie) and Indian peers to identify capability gaps.

3. Government Affairs & Policy Engagement :

- Lead engagement with MoHUA, MoEFCC, MNRE, CPCB, State PCBs, and Urban Development Departments to shape WTE policy, tariff structures, and tipping fee frameworks.

- Represent the organisation in CII, FICCI, ASSOCHAM waste management committees, and at national and global WTE/circular economy forums.

- Monitor and respond to regulatory changes - amendments to SWM Rules 2016, Hazardous Waste Management Rules, Plastic Waste Rules, and E-Waste Management Rules - and translate them into BD opportunities.

4. Partnerships, Alliances & Global Connect :

- Structure and negotiate technology partnerships with global WTE technology providers

- Lead MoU/JV negotiations with global PE funds, sovereign wealth funds (GIC, ADIA, CDPQ), and green infrastructure funds entering India's WTE space.

- Build relationships with Japanese (JFE, MHI), South Korean, and European WTE operators keen on India market entry for potential strategic partnerships.

- Drive CBG/bio-CNG partnerships under SATAT scheme

5. People Leadership & Organisational Building :

- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performance BD and strategy team of 5-8 professionals across business development, market intelligence, government affairs, and financial structuring.

- Set KPIs, pipeline metrics, win rates, and revenue realisation targets for the BD function; implement CRM discipline and BD governance.

- Collaborate closely with Operations, Finance, Legal, and Projects teams on bid go/no-go decisions, financial modelling, and contract risk review.
