JOB PROFILE:

The job involves taking ownership and complete responsibility for building estimates to create benchmarking analysis for corporate and investment banks using industry and financial research, and presenting the analysis to onshore teams and clients. Typical projects will involve gathering, analyzing, synthesizing and presenting data using structured methodologies and frameworks. Projects may take a couple of days to several weeks for completion.

Key responsibilities include:

- Build and maintain models to estimate granular, productlevel key performance metrics for investment banks (e.g., revenue, cost, riskweighted assets) and create market size estimates for investment or transaction banking products.

- Take complete ownership to explain market trends, drivers and the reasons for change in estimates/direction of revenues.

- Organize, analyze, synthesize and summarize data and information using appropriate analytical methodologies and frameworks. Conduct quantitative analysis (statistical analysis, financial data analysis, etc.) as necessary.

- Model relationships between macroeconomic indicators and investment banking performance metrics to arrive at forecasts/estimates for the above KPIs.

- Make independent decisions to derive product revenues / headcount estimates based on deepdive product research and extrinsic indicators baked into the quantitative model.

- Update and restructure models based on qualitative and quantitative information from internal contacts in the investment banking industry.

- Build and update sector databases in Excel and/or customized applications.

- Explain, defend and customize analysis to support key client initiatives in investment banking strategy, sales franchise decisions, investor communication and for senior management consumption.

- Craft effective search strategies and gather relevant information leveraging a broad set of resources (e.g., online databases, internet, external researchers, etc.). Utilize both secondary and primary research sources and techniques.

- Assist clients and/or other research delivery team members in articulating and refining research requests and projects, while working on multiple projects.

- Engage in client interactions through inperson meetings as well as regular email communication.

- Communicate research results through the creation of structured endproducts (spreadsheets, reports, presentations, etc.).

- Complete adhoc research requests, knowledge building and business development projects as necessary.

- Conduct regular workflow meetings with inhouse and onsite account managers in global financial hubs.

- Manage and/or work with an expanded team of analysts while working on multiple projects.

- Ensure that the project is delivered on time and any delays are communicated promptly.

- Lead process improvement, skill development, and technology/tool development initiatives.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

The successful candidate will have to demonstrate the following skills, experience and attributes, likely to have been gained over 10+ years of relevant experience:

- MBA or postgraduate degree in business management, statistics, economics or a similar analytical field.

- Professional certifications like CFA, FRM, CAIA, etc. would be an added advantage.

- Strong quantitative skills, an analytical mind and ability to work with significant amounts of data, both numerical and qualitative.

- Ability to make decisions while working with unstructured and limited information.

- Global market exposure and deep understanding of investment banking products.

- Strong knowledge of derivatives - including swaps, options, pricing, bonds, etc.

- Exposure to global market business and trends.

- Prior experience in financial research / analytics (mandatory).

- Sound knowledge of global capital markets products (preferred).

- A strong degree of independence and selfmotivation.

- Fluency in spoken and written English (essential).

- Excellent working skills with MS Office tools, especially advanced Excel and PowerPoint.

- Working knowledge of professional information services like Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, etc. (preferred).

- Knowledge of financial products related to investment banks.

- People and time management skills.

- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

- Aspiration to pursue and grow in this role is essential.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATION:

- MBA (or equivalent postgraduate degree in a related field).
