Role: Vertical Finance Lead
Location: Bangalore
Position Overview:
As the Vertical Finance officer, you will be the finance and commercial excellence advisor to the Global Business Head or Strategic Client Partners, in giving strategies and drill down specific goals to Business units to improve price realization every year and to improve the profitability.
In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to drive the culture change towards financial management of business, identify and drive initiatives to improve overall business performance and drive profitable business growth of their businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enhance the performance and agility of the verticals.
- Identify opportunities or ideas to double the target on business performance and drive initiatives to deliver desired results.
- Identify profit zones and investment zones for the vertical and each of its major customers.
- Collaborate on expansion strategy.
- Provide P&L insights to generate profitable growth.
- Own Pricing governance, renewals via robust contract management to improve margins.
- Provide strong SGA cost control or optimisation and investments review, driving actions and implementing.
- Ensure adequate financial hygiene of the business through better project finance management.
- Revenue and margin forecast.
- Timely and accurate business and financial information and analytics.
- Work on data points around bill rates, cost, COLA, etc modelling commercial or rate negotiations.
- Own Planning and Budgeting process, APT, EPT.
- Oversee the financial integration of the acquired entities.
- Ensure DSOs are in line with payment terms.
- Own and have a robust governance to monitor vertical financials actions in various operating rhythms.
- Provide necessary training to the vertical Sales and Delivery organization on financial health management.
- Be the Single point of contact for all finance queries to Global Business Heads and Vertical Delivery Leader.
Candidate Profile:
We are looking for someone with an ownership mindset, founders mentality who can shape pricing principles, deal economics, terms and conditions to create winnable proposition.
- Proven 8-15 years of experience in IT/ER&D services industry.
- In-depth understanding of how pricing and commercial issues affect organization.
- Experience in authoring complex models, experienced in negotiating master service contracts and long-term agreements.
- Act as a finance business partner to Sales, Operations, and Leadership teams.
- Drive revenue forecasting, margin analysis, and profitability improvement initiatives.
- Review SOWs, commercial proposals, and contracts to ensure financial viability.
- Monitor Business Unit performance, revenue, utilization, gross margin, and contribution margin.
- Results driven, high energy, self-motivated, persistent and able to work independently.
- Decisive, analytical, strategic thinker.
Governance:
- Maintain standard operating procedures and ensure compliance with leadership assessment and development protocols.
- Coordinate across systems to ensure leadership data is synced and accurate.
- Support audit readiness and reporting requirements for leadership development activities.
