The OpportunityFuture Architect of Global Pharmaceutical Business Expansion- This is not a conventional international business role. It is an accelerated leadership track designed for exceptionally ambitious professionals who aspire to build and lead a globally scaled pharmaceutical business organization.
- The Strategic Global Business Officer will work directly with the President - International Business on high-impact global commercial initiatives across exports, strategic business expansion, market access, international operations, institutional business, tender management, strategic partnerships, and business transformation.
- The role is structured to provide deep exposure across international pharmaceutical business operations spanning regulated, semi-regulated, and emerging markets while building the strategic, commercial, operational, and leadership capabilities required to evolve into a future Chief Global Business Officer (CGBO).
- The selected candidate will function as a strategic execution partner to international business leadership - driving business intelligence, cross-functional coordination, commercial analytics, growth initiatives, strategic project execution, and operational excellence across global markets.
- This role demands exceptional business acumen, strategic thinking, execution discipline, leadership potential, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, globally dynamic pharmaceutical environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesGlobal Commercial Strategy & Business Expansion- Support the President - International Business in driving global commercial strategy across developed, semi-regulated, and emerging pharmaceutical markets.
- Participate in formulation and execution of international growth strategies focused on revenue acceleration, market penetration, portfolio expansion, and profitability enhancement.
- Conduct strategic business reviews for international markets covering sales performance, MA commercialization, tender pipeline, distributor productivity, pricing dynamics, and market share trends.
- Analyze continent-wise business performance and recommend strategic interventions to improve commercial effectiveness and operational efficiency.
- Support leadership in identifying high-potential geographies, product opportunities, strategic partnerships, and long-term growth opportunities.
- Monitor global pharmaceutical industry trends, competitor movements, tender intelligence, pricing benchmarks, procurement systems, and regulatory developments to support business decision-making.
International Sales & Market Development- Work closely with regional business teams to support international customer acquisition, distributor expansion, institutional business growth, and strategic account management.
- Support execution of market entry strategies for new geographies, including commercial feasibility analysis, profitability assessment, competitive mapping, and regulatory-commercial coordination.
- Participate in development and evaluation of global tenders, pricing models, bid economics, and institutional business opportunities.
- Track commercialization effectiveness of Marketing Authorizations (MAs) and support initiatives to improve MA monetization and reduce dormant registrations.
- Coordinate launch readiness and commercialization activities for new product introductions across international markets.
- Support relationship management with distributors, procurement agencies, hospital groups, institutional buyers, and strategic business partners globally.
Strategic Projects & Business Transformation Initiatives- Lead strategic projects assigned by the President - International Business related to growth acceleration, operational excellence, digital transformation, global expansion, and business process optimization.
- Prepare executive dashboards, board-level presentations, strategic reports, analytical models, and business reviews for leadership decision-making.
- Support evaluation of strategic collaborations, in-licensing opportunities, partnerships, joint ventures, and international expansion initiatives.
- Participate in commercial due diligence, market assessment, business modeling, and integration planning for strategic business opportunities.
- Drive execution governance for key international business initiatives, ensuring timelines, accountability, and measurable business outcomes.
Cross-Functional Coordination & Operational Excellence- Act as a strategic coordination bridge between International Business, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, Finance, Quality, Logistics, Artwork, Manufacturing, and International Business Support functions.
- Support smooth execution of product registrations, artwork approvals, tender documentation, shipment readiness, order fulfillment, and customer servicing activities.
- Drive operational follow-ups and governance mechanisms to improve responsiveness, execution quality, and business efficiency across departments.
- Assist leadership in institutionalizing scalable SOPs, operational systems, and process excellence frameworks for international business operations.
Digital Enablement & Business Intelligence- Support implementation and optimization of CRM systems, BI dashboards, tender intelligence tools, sales analytics systems, and forecasting platforms.
- Analyze global sales data, customer performance, product profitability, market trends, and commercial KPIs to identify business opportunities and operational risks.
- Develop MIS frameworks, leadership dashboards, and performance scorecards for international business review mechanisms.
- Leverage analytics-driven insights to improve forecasting accuracy, customer prioritization, commercial planning, and strategic decision-making.
Leadership Exposure & Capability Development- Work closely with senior international business leadership to develop enterprise-wide understanding of global pharmaceutical operations and commercial strategy.
- Participate in strategic planning discussions, leadership reviews, customer engagements, international business meetings, and commercial decision-making forums.
- Build capabilities across international sales, exports, institutional business, tender management, market access, regulatory-commercial integration, business strategy, and operational leadership.
- Prepare progressively for larger strategic and commercial leadership responsibilities within the organization.
Ideal Candidate ProfileEducational Qualifications- MBA from a tier-1 institute.
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business, Commerce, Engineering, or related discipline is preferred.
- Additional certifications in international business, strategy, pharmaceuticals, analytics, finance, or supply chain management will be advantageous.
Experience Requirements- 0-4 years of experience in international business, exports, pharmaceutical sales, business strategy, consulting, commercial operations, or CEO's/leadership office roles within pharmaceutical, healthcare, or globally oriented industries.
- Strong exposure to international markets, strategic business planning, commercial operations, or cross-functional business execution is preferred.
- Experience in pharmaceutical exports, regulated market business, institutional sales, international tenders, or distributor management will be highly advantageous.
- Prior experience working in high-growth, performance-driven, and leadership-intensive environments is preferred.
- Exposure to global pharmaceutical regulatory-commercial ecosystems and international market dynamics will be an added advantage.
