Role Overview:
- The CMO will be part of the leadership team, owning Varaha's brand narrative, PR, digital presence, and growth marketing strategy.
- You will work closely with the founders to elevate Varaha's global visibility, attract buyers and investors, and shape the way the world perceives climate-tech solutions from the Global South.
- This is a startup leadership role - you'll be building the marketing function from the ground up, blending strategy, execution, and team-building.
Reporting to: Founders CEO.
Key Responsibilities:
Brand Communications Leadership:
- Build and own Varaha's global brand narrative - positioning us as a pioneer in climate-tech and nature-based carbon solutions.
- Drive PR strategy, securing features in top-tier international media (Bloomberg, Forbes, Reuters, etc. ) and amplifying founder voices.
- Craft compelling communications highlighting farmer impact, soil health, and measurable carbon removal.
Growth Digital Marketing:
- Develop go-to-market strategies targeting carbon credit buyers, investors, and partners.
- Lead demand-generation campaigns across digital platforms (LinkedIn, YouTube, newsletters, partnerships).
- Build strong communities and thought leadership through storytelling, webinars, and ecosystem engagement.
Content Creative Strategy.
- Oversee high-quality creation of decks, presentations, one-pagers, videos, and branded materials.
- Manage end-to-end social media campaigns, ensuring measurable growth in engagement and influence.
- Guide website content and ensure it reflects Varaha's evolving portfolio and credibility.
Events Industry Presence:
- Drive Varaha's conference strategy - securing founder speaking slots, building visibility at major climate sustainability events.
- Plan and execute global webinars, receptions, and networking opportunities.
- Represent the brand externally with authenticity and authority.
Team Leadership:
- Build and mentor a lean, high-performing communications marketing team.
- Manage agencies, consultants, and creative partners effectively.
- Foster a culture of creativity, agility, and impact measurement.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of marketing, communications, or PR experience, with at least 4+ years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven success in startups or high-growth companies; climate-tech/sustainability/social impact experience is a strong plus.
- Exceptional storytelling skills with the ability to translate science and technology into compelling narratives.
- Strong global media network and track record of securing high-profile coverage.
- Hands-on experience with digital marketing, content strategy, and growth metrics (CAC, ROI, funnel optimization).
- Entrepreneurial mindset: thrives in fast-paced, resource-constrained environments.
- Excellent leadership and team-building skills.
