Job Overview
Responsible for the management and execution of raw material (base oil, additives, TG Urea and other direct materials) sourcing activities. This role is also responsible to manage all the import related activities, including import of coolant components.
- Leading Direct Sourcing of Raw Materials, import of coolant components and inbound logistics of raw materials
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for key raw materials such as base oils, additives and related inputs
- Responsible for providing rolling forecast to all suppliers on monthly basis and ensure timely availability
- Responsible for Custom clearance of all Imported materials through our Clearing Agents.
- Ensure 100% statutory compliances in operations at Port, Tank farms & Refineries with CHAs and transporters
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers
- Lead contract negotiations, including pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and service levels.
- To ensure In-transit losses of Base Oil at Ambernath plant within company's defined limit
- Deciding functional strategies to meet SCM common goals like Product Availability etc.
- Defining SOBs of various Base oil suppliers based on formulation, consumption pattern & cost.
- Trend analysis and defining Safety stocks for RM. Ensuring these safety stock levels are maintained to best possible extent.
COST Management:
- Verifying Base oil / TGU rates as per our agreed formula for the ICIS Index.
- Analyze and prepare approvals for costing deviations and rate revisions.
- Closely work with Costing team for BO pricing trend and accordingly take decisions for procurement.
- Work with technical on Base oil formulations changes and additives procurement
- To ensure that transportation agreements are renewed without any hike.
- To evaluate the delta of Intl & local TGU and ensure the availability of TGU to toll blenders as per technical / QA guidelines.
- To be proactive and take effective steps for Zero Demurrage
- Sending out periodic costing communications to costing team which helps them track costs and make escalations to the external customer.
- Evaluation of offers and crafting negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms. Making recommendations based on technical and commercial criteria and taking senior management's approvals as per FAA.
- Identify cost saving opportunities and effective execution and implementation to yield targeted savings.
- Effective utilization of Plant tanks and hired tanks at ports
Trouble Shooting and Crises Handling:
- Follow up with suppliers for Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and arranging solutions to internal stake holders to the level of satisfaction.
- Implement corrective actions and ensure closure of complaints.
CHANGE Management:
VENDOR Management:
- Addressing vendor grievances and drawing mutually agreed solutions.
- Driving closure of payment-billing queries raised by suppliers' time to time.
- Agreements renewal before their expiry.
Compliance:
- IATF - Responsible for maintaining departmental records and documentation. Facing internal and external audits.
- Publishing procurement related MIS reports and providing input in monthly review meeting.
- Delegation and Empowerment
- Encouraging team members to meet functional objectives and situational goals.
- On job training and supervising the overall activities of team.
- Targeted Skill improvement of DRs by assigning specific tasks time to time.
