Job Overview
- Compliance legal specialist to provide oversight and management of VCPL's compliance program and provide global support to Valvoline Inc.'s international ethics and compliance program. This role will also lead VCPL's investigation process through interviewing, documenting, using system tools, and obtaining other information to develop a clear, data driven understanding of the investigation subject.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Description & % of Time
1. Investigates employees' related issues as an objective representative of the Company; documents findings and makes recommendations for corrective actions using the organization's process of ethics reporting. 40%
2. Uses a strong understanding of business ethics policies and practices to develop recommendations and determine an appropriate course of action while considering the organizational environment. Demonstrates and promotes the company's culture in all actions.
3. Interprets trends in investigation data; works with human resources, legal and other appropriate internal and external parties to prepare and present recommended actions to leadership.
4. Maintain a position of independence and objectivity throughout the investigative process; maintains a balanced perspective between the company's and employee's position during investigations.
5. Conducts effective induction and orientation sessions. Onboards new employees and maintains an awareness of current learning/training trends. Ensures training records are maintained.
6. Demonstrate the ability to consistently apply the company's investigation processes and escalate issues as appropriate. Trains, coaches, and develops others on the investigation process
7. Responsible for the application, development and overseeing of ethics and compliance programs, policies in order to mitigate the risk of improper, illegal or unethical activities
8. Oversee and manage VCPL's ethics and compliance including policies, procedures. Participating and running annual risk assessments along with internal audit and risk teams; develop annual compliance plan; support on tracking LMS and instructor led trainings, conduct instructor-led trainings. Coordinate with different department managers to review all departmental compliance policies. Interprets code of
9. Support Valvoline Inc's international ethics and compliance function including assisting with annual compliance certification, training development, tracking and reporting. 60%
10. Review and evaluate company procedures and reports to identify hidden risks or common issues.
11. Develops and implements strategies for all activities relating to code of conduct, and ethical relationships
12. Effectively communicating ethics and compliance standards and procedures to all employees through training programs and materials. Lead employee training sessions on ethics and compliance issues.
Primary Interactions
Internal and External (e.g., Internal contact- Incumbent will have regular contact with senior leaders, etc. S/he will maintain contact with several areas across the organization. External contacts include vendors, clients, etc.) This role will interact with both internal and external groups. Responsibilities are multi-faceted, working with internal personnel across all departments, third parties including distributors, vendors and corporate resources

Preferences and Minimum RequirementsEducation
- College, university, or equivalent degree in Business, Ethics, Legal, Human Resources, Audit or related field or equivalent experience required.
