Role Overview:
As the senior technology leader for the group, you will serve as the strategic architect for the company's digital and operational infrastructure. This role involves bridging the gap between complex business requirements and scalable technical solutions, ensuring that the retail ecosystem remains resilient, secure, and future-ready. You will work closely with the executive leadership team to drive digital transformation initiatives, optimize IT operations across multiple geographies, and foster a culture of data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and execute a comprehensive IT strategy that aligns with the groups aggressive retail expansion and digital transformation goals.
- Oversee the end-to-end management of IT operations, ensuring high availability and performance of critical retail systems and ERP platforms.
- Direct IT governance and compliance frameworks to protect corporate data and ensure adherence to regional regulatory standards.
- Manage the annual IT budget, balancing capital expenditure for innovation with operational efficiency to maximize return on investment.
- Lead large-scale digital transformation projects, including the integration of advanced data analytics to gain actionable insights into consumer behavior.
- Manage relationships with key technology vendors and service providers to ensure service level agreements are met and costs are optimized.
- Drive change management initiatives across the organization to ensure smooth adoption of new technologies and digital tools by retail and corporate staff.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex IT strategy and digital transformation initiatives within a large-scale, multi-country retail environment.
- Proven expertise in managing ERP implementations and optimizing enterprise-level technology stacks to support retail operations.
- Strong proficiency in IT governance, risk management, and financial budgeting, with the ability to articulate technical value to non-technical stakeholders.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence executive leadership and manage cross-functional teams across diverse cultural landscapes.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data analytics to drive business performance and operational improvements.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth retail environment, demonstrating adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, complemented by a track record of 8 to 17 years in progressive IT leadership roles.
- Readiness to relocate to Malaysia and provide on-site leadership to the regional technology team.
Selection Process:
Shortlisted candidates will complete a 15-minute video screening, followed by in-person interviews with the Group CIO. Final-round candidates will meet again within the month for next steps.
