About the job:
Job Title: Senior Manager Sales (Power Sector)
Job Description:
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical and commercial understanding of the power industry, with a successful track record in selling automation systems, digital transformation solutions, and engineering services. This role is responsible for developing new business, managing key accounts, and achieving aggressive growth targets.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to expand Utthungas footprint in the power generation, transmission, distribution, and renewable energy segments.
- Identify and engage with key stakeholders including utilities, EPCs, OEMs, system integrators, and government bodies.
- Promote Utthungas solutions in SCADA/DCS/PLC systems, substation automation, asset monitoring, IIoT, digital twins, predictive maintenance, and engineering consulting services.
- Drive the full sales lifecycle: lead generation, proposal development, solution presentation, contract negotiation, and closure.
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with clients and partners.
- Collaborate with internal teams including pre-sales, technical, delivery, and product engineering to design client-specific solutions.
- Stay up to date with policy changes, tender opportunities, and new technology trends in the power sector.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts and reports using CRM tools like Salesforce or Zoho.
- Represent Utthunga at industry events, exhibitions, and government forums.
- Meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Electrical, Power Systems, or related field); MBA is an advantage.
- 12 to 15 years of experience in B2B technical sales, specifically in the power or energy sector.
- Strong domain knowledge of power systems, substation automation, transmission technologies, renewables integration, and utility operations.
- Proven experience in selling automation products, software platforms, or engineering services to power utilities and related clients.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to navigate complex sales cycles and government procurement processes.
- Willingness to travel extensively to customer and project locations.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with customers such as NTPC, BHEL, Power Grid, State Electricity Boards, or renewable energy IPPs.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (CERC, POSOCO), tendering systems (GeM, E-Tender), and energy policies.
- Exposure to digital grid, microgrid, energy management, and smart grid technologies.
- Familiarity with platforms and OEMs such as GE, Siemens, ABB, Schneider, SEL, or Honeywell
