Role Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and client-focused US Taxation Professional with experience in global mobility taxation, expatriate tax compliance, and international assignment taxation. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical tax knowledge, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality tax compliance and advisory services to multinational clients and globally mobile employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, prepare, and sign US individual tax returns and related deliverables for globally mobile employees within established timelines.
- Ensure compliance with US tax regulations, international tax requirements, and organizational quality standards.
- Maintain accurate tax records, workpapers, and supporting documentation to ensure audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
- Provide technical guidance on international assignment taxation, tax equalization, tax protection, payroll withholding obligations, and social security considerations.
- Advise employees on their tax responsibilities and the tax implications of cross-border assignments, business travel, and relocations.
- Support the preparation of tax planning analyses and applications aimed at optimizing employees' tax positions.
- Conduct research on US and international tax regulations, treaty provisions, and country-specific tax issues impacting globally mobile employees.
- Stay current with developments in tax legislation and proactively assess their impact on clients and internal processes.
- Prepare technical memos, reports, and recommendations for management, auditors, and tax authorities.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients regarding employee business travel and global mobility tax matters.
- Build strong client relationships by providing timely updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring a high level of service delivery.
- Collaborate with internal teams, payroll providers, HR stakeholders, and external advisors to ensure seamless execution of tax engagements.
- Monitor engagement progress, timelines, and deliverables to ensure efficient project execution.
- Support financial management activities, including billing, collections, revenue tracking, and engagement profitability.
- Track and report key operational metrics, KPIs, and compliance deliverables.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 3-8 years of experience in US Individual Taxation, Global Mobility Tax, Expatriate Tax, or International Tax Compliance.
- Strong understanding of US Individual Tax Returns (Form 1040), Global Mobility & Expatriate Taxation, Tax Equalization and Tax Protection Policies, Cross-Border Employment Tax Issues, and Social Security and Payroll Tax Considerations.
- Experience working with multinational organizations and globally mobile employees.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and client management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA, EA, Enrolled Agent, or relevant taxation certifications.
- Experience with Big 4 or global tax advisory firms.
- Exposure to business traveler compliance programs and mobility tax technology platforms.
- Knowledge of international tax treaties and foreign tax credit mechanisms.
