About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented US Tax Reviewer to join our tax team in Bengaluru. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in US individual and business tax compliance, hands-on experience in reviewing tax returns, and excellent client management skills. This role requires working directly with US-based clients, reviewing returns prepared by junior team members, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining compliance with IRS regulations.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Review US individual (Form 1040) and business (1120, 1120S, 1065) tax returns prepared by the tax team to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Manage end-to-end client communication with US-based clients, addressing queries, clarifying tax issues, and providing expert guidance.
- Supervise and mentor junior tax professionals, ensuring adherence to company standards and compliance best practices.
- Analyze and review client financial information, bank statements, and related documents to prepare or validate tax filings.
- Ensure timely completion of tax review work in alignment with deadlines and service-level agreements.
- Demonstrate proficiency with QuickBooks, Xero, or similar bookkeeping software for data validation and review.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation and uphold client confidentiality at all times.
- Stay updated on US tax laws and IRS filing procedures, including electronic submission and confirmation processes.
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve accuracy, efficiency, and turnaround time in tax preparation and review processes.
- Exhibit strong problem-solving, analytical, and time management skills to handle multiple priorities effectively.
Key Requirements:
Experience & Technical Skills:
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in US taxation with at least 5+ years in a reviewer or managerial capacity.
- In-depth understanding of US Federal and State tax laws, Form 1040, 1120, 1120S, 1065, and other related filings.
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks, Xero, or similar accounting software.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Familiarity with IRS e-filing processes, and other government entity platforms for return submission and confirmation.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively liaise with US clients.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proven capability to manage client relationships and deliver high-quality service within deadlines.
- Flexibility to work in US business hours.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA, EA, or CA certification is highly desirable.
- Prior experience working with Big 4 or mid-tier accounting firms (EY, Deloitte, KPMG, PwC) preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial statement analysis will be an added advantage.
