Procurement Lead - Job Description

Role Overview:

We are looking for a Procurement Lead to own procurement, vendor management, commercial negotiation, PO execution, packaging procurement, finished goods procurement, and vendor performance across our consumer brands. The role will ensure every product and packaging requirement is procured at the right cost, right MOQ, right quality, and right timeline, without creating stockouts or excess inventory.

This person will work closely with NPD, Supply Chain, Inventory Planning, Finance, Brand, E-commerce, Quick Commerce, Operations, and Logistics teams to ensure timely product availability across all channels.

Core Objective:

Buy better, faster, cheaper, and with less risk while ensuring product availability, launch readiness, and working capital discipline.

Key Responsibilities:

- Own procurement of finished goods, packaging materials, raw materials, contract manufacturing requirements, and business-critical materials.

- Convert approved purchase plans into vendor execution with clear timelines and accountability.

- Release and manage purchase orders as per approved quantity, rate, payment terms, GST, delivery dates, and delivery locations.

- Ensure timely procurement for existing products, repeat orders, new launches, seasonal campaigns, and platform sale events.

- Maintain procurement discipline so urgent purchases, stockouts, and uncontrolled excess inventory are minimized.

- Build and manage a strong vendor base across finished goods, packaging, contract manufacturers, and service vendors.

- Lead commercial negotiations with vendors for pricing, MOQ, credit period, freight, payment terms, and delivery timelines.

- Own procurement of packaging materials such as bottles, jars, tubes, pumps, caps, labels, cartons, mono-cartons, shippers, inserts, stickers, sleeves, and other brand packaging items.

- Maintain a live PO tracker for all vendors, SKUs, packaging materials, and manufacturing orders.

- Work with Supply Chain and Inventory Planning teams to understand reorder requirements, stockout risk, and inventory days target.

- Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills and ERP experience.

- Ability to work with multiple internal teams and external vendors.

The ideal candidate should be a strong procurement operator who combines cost negotiation, vendor discipline, PO tracking, packaging understanding, and business urgency. The person should be proactive, detail-oriented, aggressive with follow-ups, and commercially sharp.
