The Procurement Specialist will manage endtoend procurement, contracting, vendor governance, and budget controls for UPL SAS. This role ensures that all procurement activities follow organizational policies, adhere to compliance standards, use the right vendors, and maintain cost efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:


Procurement & Sourcing Management


- Lead endtoend sourcing for all categories under SAS (services, technology, operations, and indirect spend).


- Drive competitive bidding processes, including minimum quotations, market benchmarking, and vendor evaluation.


- Ensure full compliance with UPL procurement policies, Delegation of Authority (DoA), and audit requirements.


- Conduct cost analysis, TCO assessments, and negotiate favorable terms.


Contracting & Governance


- Own the complete contracting lifecycle: drafting, reviewing, coordinating with legal, finalization, and ongoing monitoring.


- Maintain repository of contracts, expiry alerts, and ensure renewals or re-tenders are proactively driven.


- Implement strong vendor governance practices, including SLA tracking, performance management, and compliance checks.


Vendor Management


- Ensure teams across UPL SAS onboard only approved vendors, following due diligence, risk assessment, and compliance standards.


- Support vendor onboarding documentation, compliance verification, and system set-up.


- Build depth in supplier market intelligence, identify new suppliers, and develop alternative vendor pipeline.


Budget & Financial Controls


- Manage annual budgets, track spend vs. plan, and highlight variances and risks.


- Validate PR/PO creation accuracy and ensure alignment with approved budgets.


- Strengthen financial discipline across categories and help prevent leakage or noncompliant spend.


Process Improvement & Compliance


- Drive adherence to procurement SOPs, ethical standards, and internal audit recommendations.


- Educate and guide internal stakeholders on correct procurement practices, policies, and vendor selection protocols.


- Lead process automation or improvements in coordination with Procurement Excellence / Digital Teams.


Key Skills & Competencies:


Technical Skills:


- Strong knowledge of sourcing, purchasing frameworks, and vendor contracts.


- Understanding of compliance, audit processes, and procurement risk management.


- Proficiency in SAP/ERP procurement modules.


- Excellent negotiation and analytical skills.


Behavioral Competencies:


- High ownership and accountability.


- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing abilities.


- Attention to detail and governance mindset.


- Structured communication and problem-solving skills.


Required Qualifications & Experience:


- Graduate/Post Graduate; MBA or Supply Chain specialization preferred.


- 5-10 years of relevant experience in procurement, sourcing, or contract management (preferably in manufacturing, agribusiness, or services domains).


- Proven track record in vendor governance and cost management.


- Experience managing end to end procurement independently.
