UPI Subject Matter Expert - Functional Consultant

Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced UPI Issuer Functional Consultant with strong expertise in digital payments and banking systems. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in UPI Issuer modules, NPCI certification processes, bank-side transaction validations, and mandate management.

Key Responsibilities:

- Handle end-to-end UPI Issuer modules including customer onboarding, mandate management, and transaction processing.

- Work on bank-side transactional validations and UPI workflows.

- Configure and manage Payee and Payer mandate setups.

- Coordinate with internal teams, banks, and external stakeholders for NPCI certification, compliance, and UDIR reporting.

- Understand and implement NPCI Operating Circulars (OCs) and procedural guidelines.

- Support UPI integrations with Issuer, Acquirer, and PSP systems.

- Work closely with technology, operations, compliance, and business teams for successful implementation and issue resolution.

- Manage and support Hardware Security Module (HSM) integration for secure transaction processing and cryptographic operations.

- Participate in testing, certification, deployment, and production support activities.

- Ensure compliance with banking and NPCI regulatory standards.

Required Skills:

- Strong functional understanding of UPI ecosystem and payment flows.

- Hands-on experience in UPI Issuer implementations.

- Experience with bank-side transactional validations.

- Knowledge of NPCI certification processes and compliance requirements.

- Experience in mandate management and MCC mapping.

- Familiarity with UPI Acquirer and PSP systems.

- Understanding of HSM integration and security concepts.

- Exposure to UDIR reporting and NPCI Operating Circulars (OCs).

- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience working in banking or fintech organizations.

- Exposure to mobile banking projects (minimum 2 projects preferred).

- Knowledge of digital payments, reconciliation, and settlement processes.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced production support and implementation environment.
