We are looking for Direct Tax professionals who are ready to take the next step in their careers with a growing, new-age tax & advisory firm in Mumbai.

This opportunity is particularly suited to Chartered Accountants who have built strong hands-on experience across Direct Tax advisory and litigation and are now ready to take greater ownership of client engagements, technical matters and team delivery.

The role offers exposure across Direct Taxation, Corporate Tax and International Tax, while working closely with senior professionals and leadership.

What youll be responsible for:

Direct Tax Advisory & Litigation:

- Coordinate and deliver multiple Direct Tax assignments within demanding timelines.

- Support clients on complex Direct Tax matters and advisory assignments.

- Work closely with senior leadership in managing and delivering tax engagements.

- Manage submissions, assessments and appellate proceedings before the CIT(A), Tribunals, High Courts and Supreme Court.

- Contribute to tax risk management and assurance processes and ensure adherence to established SOPs.

- Assist in monitoring and managing resource chargeability across engagements.

Client Management & Business Exposure:

- Support senior team members in fee negotiations and discussions around the scope of engagements.

- Gather and analyse relevant Business Intelligence relating to Direct Tax.

- Build strong and independent relationships with clients and contribute towards delivering a high-quality client experience.

- Contribute towards strengthening the firm's visibility in the market.

- Develop effective working relationships with tax authorities, business and functional heads, local and international tax teams and external service providers.

Team & Quality Management:

- Ensure quality and compliance across all aspects of Direct Taxation.

- Support the development, training and mentoring of junior team members.

- Contribute towards performance assessments relating to tax engagements and year-end provisions.

- Collaborate with internal teams to support advisory requirements across local and global jurisdictions.

What were looking for:

- A qualified Chartered Accountant with 4-6 years of post-qualification experience.

- Strong experience in Direct Tax Litigation & Advisory.

- Sound knowledge of Indian and International Tax laws and relevant industry practices.

- Basic working knowledge of allied regulations such as FEMA and the Black Money Act (BMA).

- Strong financial and/or statistical analytical abilities.

- A client-focused approach with good commercial awareness.

- The ability to build professional relationships and contribute towards business development, negotiations and stakeholder management.

- Strong interpersonal, decision-making and emerging leadership capabilities.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- High professional standards, integrity and strong ethics.

We would particularly like to hear from professionals who are currently operating at an Assistant Manager or equivalent level and are ready to step into a Manager role with greater responsibility and ownership.
