
Job Title: Unit Head - Synthetic Yarn Dyeing Plant
Location: Palghar
Reporting To: Head of Operations
Role Overview:
The Unit Head will lead operations of a synthetic yarn dyeing plant, ensuring efficiency, quality, and sustainability. This role requires a strong leader with proven experience in textile manufacturing, particularly in processing Polyester and Nylon filament yarns, and a deep understanding of automation technologies to drive productivity and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership:
- Oversee end-to-end plant operations including production, quality control, maintenance, and supply chain coordination.
- Ensure adherence to production schedules, cost targets, and quality standards.
- Implement lean manufacturing practices to optimize resource utilization. Polyester & Nylon Filament Yarn Expertise
- Direct and supervise dyeing processes specific to Polyester and Nylon filament yarns, ensuring consistency and high-quality output.
- Optimize recipes, dyeing cycles, and chemical usage tailored to synthetic filament yarns.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to yarn properties, dye uptake, and finishing.
Automation & Technology:
- Drive adoption of automation systems in dyeing, finishing, and packaging processes.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate advanced machinery, robotics, and digital monitoring systems.
- Monitor and analyze data from automated systems to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
People Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse workforce, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and promote employee well-being.
- Build strong cross-functional collaboration between production, R&D, and quality teams.
Quality & Compliance:
- Maintain strict adherence to environmental and regulatory standards in dyeing processes.
- Ensure consistent product quality through robust testing and process control.
- Drive sustainability initiatives, including water conservation and chemical management.
Strategic Contribution:
- Contribute to long-term business planning and expansion strategies.
- Identify opportunities for innovation in synthetic yarn dyeing techniques.
- Build relationships with suppliers and customers to strengthen market positioning.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Textile Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- MBA operations desirable but not essential
- 12-15 years of experience in textile manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of working with Polyester & Nylon filament yarn dyeing processes.
- Strong knowledge of synthetic yarn dyeing machinery, chemical applications, and automation systems.
