About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Unit Head / Chief Operating Officer to lead the overall operations, P&L, administration, and strategic growth of a 120-bedded hospital. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership capabilities, deep understanding of healthcare operations, and proven experience in driving operational excellence, compliance, and patient-centric service delivery. This role demands the ability to manage multifunctional teams, ensure statutory compliance, and implement strategies that enhance operational efficiency and revenue performance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Planning & Execution:

- Develop and implement long-term and short-term strategic plans to enhance operational efficiency, patient services, and overall hospital performance.

- Identify opportunities to streamline operations, improve service quality, and drive sustainable business growth.

- Lead cross-functional initiatives to align hospital operations with organizational goals, quality standards, and industry best practices.

2. P&L Ownership & Budget Management:

- Oversee the hospital's financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control measures.

- Ensure optimal resource allocation across clinical and non-clinical departments.

- Monitor revenue performance, analyze financial reports, and implement strategies to improve profitability.

3. Operations Leadership & Administration:

- Drive the smooth functioning of all hospital operations including administration, facilities, medical services, and support services.

- Ensure operational goals, KPIs, and SLAs are achieved across departments.

- Oversee day-to-day operations to maintain seamless patient flow, service quality, and operational discipline.

4. Team Leadership & People Management:

- Lead, mentor, and develop departmental HODs and operational teams to achieve productivity and performance excellence.

- Conduct regular performance reviews, track achievements against departmental targets, and address deviations.

- Build a strong culture of accountability, collaboration, and service excellence within teams.

5. Process Improvement & Quality Management:

- Continuously evaluate workflows, systems, and processes to identify gaps and improvement areas.

- Drive cost-efficiency initiatives without compromising patient care quality.

- Ensure all clinical and non-clinical functions consistently deliver world-class healthcare services.

6. Compliance, Policies & Audits:

- Ensure 100% compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and audit requirements.

- Implement organizational policies, protocols, and healthcare standards across departments.

- Ensure timely preparation and submission of statutory, statistical, and audit reports.

7. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

- Work closely with clinical leadership, medical staff, nursing, and support teams to foster a collaborative work environment.

- Drive alignment between medical and operational functions to ensure smooth coordination and high-quality patient outcomes.

8. Performance Review & Reporting:

- Conduct monthly operational review meetings with HODs to track performance, identify gaps, and set corrective actions.

- Monitor operational dashboards, KPIs, and departmental performance metrics to ensure targets are achieved.

- Present operational insights and improvement recommendations to senior management.
