Role Overview
Unacademy is looking for a high-impact Director - Strategy to lead business planning, growth initiatives, and operational excellence for its Chandigarh Business.
The ideal candidate will combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution, driving growth across sales, operations, marketing, and partnerships while working closely with senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Business & Growth Strategy
- Own and drive the overall business strategy for Unacademys one of Business centre
- Translate organizational goals into actionable business plans and growth initiatives
- Identify new revenue opportunities, market expansion strategies, and partnerships
Revenue & P&L Ownership
- Drive revenue growth and profitability with accountability for business performance
- Monitor key business metrics including sales, conversions, cost efficiency, and ROI
- Prepare and present business reviews, forecasts, and performance updates to leadership
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Product, and Academic teams
- Ensure alignment between strategy and on-ground execution
- Act as a single-point owner for business outcomes across functions
Operational Excellence
- Build and optimize processes to improve productivity, efficiency, and scalability
- Identify operational bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure smooth execution of daily operations while scaling the business
Team Leadership & Talent Development
- Lead, mentor, and build high-performing teams across functions
- Set clear goals, KPIs, and accountability frameworks
- Drive a culture of ownership, performance, and collaboration
Stakeholder Management
- Partner with senior leadership and founders on strategic priorities
- Represent the Chandigarh business internally and externally as needed
- Manage key internal and external stakeholders effectively
Required Qualifications & Experience
- 8 to 12 years of experience in Strategy, Business Operations, Consulting, or General Management
- Proven experience in a Business Head / P&L ownership role or equivalent leadership position
- Strong track record of driving growth, scale, and execution in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to operate at both strategic and execution levels
Skills & Competencies
- Strong business acumen and analytical skills
- Experience with revenue planning, forecasting, and performance management
- Excellent stakeholder management and leadership capabilities
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity and build structure from scratch
- Data-driven decision-making mindset
Preferred Experience
- Experience in EdTech, Consumer Internet, or B2C businesses
- Exposure to scaling regional or center-led operations
- MBA from a reputed institute is a plus
