About the Role:

The Finance Controller will lead the financial operations at Ugaoo with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and process excellence. The role involves managing financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, audits, and core finance functions while working closely with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of accounting and tax principles, and the ability to improve financial systems and solve operational challenges.

Responsibilities:

- Manage overall financial operations, reporting, compliance, and controls

- Prepare and analyze MIS reports, financial dashboards, and performance insights

- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

- Work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and Leadership teams for financial alignment

- Ensure accurate revenue recognition and adherence to accounting principles

- Oversee stock and inventory accounting, reconciliations, and valuation processes

- Manage Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), Treasury, and FinOps

- Independently handle statutory and internal audits from planning to closure

- Address and resolve audit observations with clarity and accuracy

- Ensure compliance with all direct and indirect tax requirements

- Drive improvements in internal controls, financial systems, and process efficiency

- Identify and solve structural financial or operational problems

- Communicate financial insights and recommendations to senior management

- Support strategic decision-making through data-driven analysis

Requirements:

- 5-7 years of experience in finance, accounting, or controllership roles

- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)

- Strong understanding of MIS, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis

- Deep knowledge of revenue principles, cost structures, and inventory accounting

- Hands-on experience managing AR, AP, Treasury, and finance operations

- Strong expertise in direct and indirect taxation, including GST, TDS, and Income Tax

- Proven track record of independently handling statutory and internal audits

- Ability to respond effectively to audit queries and resolve audit observations

- Strong communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills

- Ability to identify and resolve structural issues in finance processes

- Experience in ecommerce, retail, supply-chain-driven, or inventory-heavy industries preferred
