Description:
Title: Lead - Solution Design
Role Objective:
- To lead end-to-end solution design for transportation, warehousing, and integrated logistics engagements.
- Ensuring cost-competitive, scalable, and execution-ready solutions that improve win rates, margins, and customer confidence.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehousing Solutioning:
- Design RDCs, FCs, spoke warehouses, line-feed and supermarket models.
- Develop space, manpower, MHE, productivity, and layout models.
- Drive optimization across SKU profiling, throughput, slotting, and shift planning.
Integrated Logistics Solutions:
- Architect end-to-end warehousing + transportation solutions with single commercial ownership.
- Design integrated visibility and control-tower-led operating models.
- Ensure smooth handover from solutioning to operations, minimizing go-live risk.
Transportation Solutioning:
- Design primary, secondary, in-city, milk-run, and line-haul networks.
- Develop vehicle mix, routing, frequency, km/trip-based cost models.
- Identify savings through route optimization, consolidation, utilization improvement, and carrier rationalization.
- Lead transport desk / 4PL solutioning, including governance and SLA frameworks.
Costing, Commercials & Risk:
- Own bottom-up costing, pricing, and margin protection.
- Partner with Finance to ensure commercial viability and risk mitigation.
- Define year-1 savings roadmap and steady-state cost levers.
Technology Enablement:
- Embed WMS, TMS, track-and-trace, and analytics into solutions.
- Ensure tech-led productivity, visibility, and compliance.
Stakeholder & Team Leadership:
- Act as solution SPOC for large RFQs and strategic customers.
- Work closely with Sales, Operations, IT, Finance, and Legal.
- Mentor solution design team and standardize templates, assumptions, and playbooks.
Success Metrics:
- RFQ win rate improvement.
- Cost competitiveness vs benchmarks.
- Margin adherence post go-live.
- Accuracy of assumptions vs actuals.
- Speed and quality of solution turnaround.
Experience:
- 12+ years in logistics / supply chain solutioning.
- Strong hands-on exposure to transport network design and warehousing solutions.
Education:
- MBA / PGDM (Operations / Supply Chain preferred).
- Engineering background preferred.
Core Skills:
- Transportation & warehousing cost engineering.
- Integrated solution architecture.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen.
