Job Overview:
Responsible for leading strategic sourcing and procurement across Dyes & Chemicals, Packaging Materials, and Engineering & Store Spares, with ownership of:
- Developing and executing category sourcing strategies to ensure cost competitiveness, quality, and supply continuity.
- Driving cost optimization through strategic negotiations, value engineering, spend consolidation, and alternate source development.
- Leading supplier development initiatives and building a robust, high-performing vendor ecosystem.
- Driving procurement digitization to enhance end-to-end visibility, reduce lead times, and enable data-driven decision making.
- Implementing Just-in-Time (JIT) practices and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) models to improve inventory efficiency.
- Building long-term collaborative supplier partnerships that promote a sustainable win-win approach.
- Standardizing and simplifying procurement processes to improve governance, efficiency, and user experience.
- Consolidating sourcing activities across categories to leverage scale and improve commercial outcomes.
- Ensuring compliance with procurement policies, contractual obligations, and quality standards.
- Creating a transparent, agile, and digitally enabled supply chain that supports business growth and operational excellence.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute category-wise sourcing strategies for Dyes & Chemicals, Packaging Materials, Engineering & Spares based on business requirements and market trends.
- Identify and develop new suppliers, alternate sources and strategic business partners to reduce dependency and supply risk.
- Lead price negotiations, annual rate contracts, commercial terms and long term sourcing agreements to achieve cost competitiveness.
- Benchmark prices of key materials against market and industry benchmarks and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Ensure uninterrupted availability of critical dyes, chemicals, packaging materials, engineering components and spares as per production requirements.
- Ensure timely invoice processing, commercial closure and resolution of supplier grievances.
- Build and develop the sourcing team, strengthen processes and drive a culture of ownership, accountability and continuous improvements.
Preferred Education or Certifications:
B.E/B.Tech/MBA in Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering or related discipline.
