
This is a full time senior level role with our global manufacturing client based in Chennai. This is a Plant HR Head/GM role.
Key Purpose of the Job:
- Leading all HR/IR activities of the plant, handling a workforce of ~3800 employees.
- Ensure effective Talent management process as well as ensure happiness of employees by timely and effective HR services to internal customers.
- Ensuring harmonious Employee/community relations.
- The incumbent must have strong experience in IR/Industrial relations, attrition management, employee costing and should have worked in a plant set up as HR.

Key Activities & Responsibilities:
Strategic:
- Productivity improvement through collaborative working
- Talent Management of Managerial Employees
- Creation and implementation of strategies for smooth functioning of workforce
Human Resources:
- Designing & Benchmarking of HR policies and processes
- Engagement of employees
- Development and upgradation of capability to achieve plant vision
- Management of manpower availability as per plan
- Management of employee cost tracking and intervention
Employee Relations/IR:
- Championing ER, IR policies and processes
- Managing employee and complex Industrial relations issues
- Conflict management and dispute resolution through mediation and continuous dialogues
- Implementing process correction measures & risk mitigation measures
- Lead compliance management
Administration & Liaisoning:
- Monitoring and advising on plant related litigation matters
- Ensure smooth Liaisoning with conciliation officer, Labour Commissioner and other Govt. Authorities
- Managing negotiations for out of court settlements
CSR:
- Driving community engagement to become preferred citizen of neighborhood community
- CSR activity Action plan
- Complaints resolution from neighbourhood community

Education:
MBA or MSW or PGDHRM graduate
Good to have/desirable:
Speaks Tamil, knowledge or experience of union.
