TREEBO | Job Description Category Growth Manager Home Essentials D2C Home Essentials | Own the category from 0 to 1 Department: E-commerce / D2C Home Essentials Location: Bangalore (HustleHub Tech Park, Sarjapur Road) Reports To: Head of D2C / E-commerce Experience: 4-8 years in category management, D2C/e-commerce growth, or brand management Employment Type: Full-time About Treebo: Treebo Hospitality Ventures is one of India's largest hotel chains, managing a fast-growing portfolio of budget and mid-market hotels across the country. Building on our scale and sourcing expertise, we are launching a new D2C home essentials e-commerce platform bringing the quality and value we've built for hotels directly to consumers. About the Role: We are looking for a Category Growth Manager to build and scale the Home Essentials category (linen, bedsheets, toiletries, and general merchandise) on our new D2C platform essentially a 0-to-1 mandate. This is a demand-side, P&L-owning role: you'll define the category's assortment and pricing strategy, drive listings and visibility across our website and marketplaces, and use data to figure out what sells, why, and how to grow it. You'll work closely with sourcing/procurement, marketing, and platform/ops teams, but you own the growth number. Key Responsibilities: - Own end-to-end category P&L for Home Essentials on the D2C platform revenue, margin, and growth targets from launch through scale. - Build the category from the ground up: define assortment architecture, prioritize SKUs, and plan catalogue expansion in phases (0-to-1, then 1-to-n). - Own pricing and promotions strategy competitive benchmarking, margin management, and offer design to drive conversion. - Drive demand generation in partnership with marketing campaign inputs, content briefs, and platform merchandising (website, marketplaces, social). - Manage listings and category presentation across own website and third-party marketplaces (Amazon, Flipkart, etc.), optimizing for discoverability and conversion. - Partner with sourcing/procurement to translate demand signals and catalogue gaps into vendor and product decisions. - Track category performance sell-through, conversion, repeat rate, contribution margin and run rapid experiments to unlock growth. - Identify and launch new sub-categories or product lines based on market trends, customer feedback, and competitive gaps. - Build reporting and dashboards to keep leadership updated on category health, growth trajectory, and key risks. - Stay on top of D2C/e-commerce trends and competitor moves in the home essentials and home textiles space. What We're Looking For: - 4-8 years of experience in category management, D2C/e-commerce growth, brand management, or e-commerce marketplace management, ideally in home/lifestyle, FMCG, or textiles categories. - Proven experience taking a category or product line from 0 to 1 comfortable with ambiguity, building from scratch, and moving fast. - Strong commercial and analytical instincts comfortable owning a P&L, building pricing/growth models, and making data-backed calls. - Hands-on experience with marketplace/website catalogue management, listings optimization, and performance marketing coordination. - Track record of cross-functional execution working closely with marketing, sourcing, and platform/tech teams to ship and grow. - Customer-first mindset with a good eye for product, merchandising, and what makes a category sell online. - Prior D2C, e-commerce, or online marketplace experience strongly preferred; hospitality/retail category background is a plus but not a substitute for growth-side experience. Why Join Treebo: - A true 0-to-1 mandate build and own a new category on a platform from day one, with real autonomy. - Backed by Treebo's scale, sourcing relationships, and hospitality distribution as a launch advantage. - Be part of a lean, fast-moving founding team for the D2C business, with direct visibility to leadership.
