Senior Manager - Data Science | 12-16 Years of Experience

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager Data Science to lead and grow a high-performing team of Data Scientists and Analysts, while driving data-driven products, insights and AI/ML solutions. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise in Machine Learning and Analytics with strategic thinking, business acumen and stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership & Strategy:

- Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team of Data Scientists and Analysts.

- Define and execute the Data Science roadmap aligned with business objectives.

- Partner with Product, Engineering and Business teams to identify and prioritize high-impact data science initiatives.

- Drive adoption of data-driven decision-making across the organization.

2. Technical Leadership:

- Oversee the design, development and deployment of Machine Learning models, predictive analytics, recommendation systems and AI solutions.

- Establish best practices across model development, feature engineering, validation, deployment and monitoring.

- Ensure data quality, reproducibility, scalability and governance across analytics initiatives.

- Provide technical guidance on complex Data Science and Machine Learning problems.

3. Business Impact:

- Translate complex analytical findings into actionable business insights and recommendations.

- Partner with senior leadership to define KPIs, success metrics and measurable business outcomes.

- Identify opportunities where Data Science and AI can improve business performance, customer experience and operational efficiency.

- Champion a data-first culture across the organization.

4. People Management:

- Hire, coach and retain high-quality Data Science and Analytics talent.

- Set goals, conduct performance reviews and provide continuous feedback.

- Build career development plans and foster a culture of learning, innovation and collaboration.

- Encourage knowledge sharing and adoption of industry best practices.

Required Qualifications:

- 12-16 years of overall experience, with at least 3-5 years of experience leading Data Science or Analytics teams.

- Strong understanding of Machine Learning, Statistics, Data Modeling and Advanced Analytics.

- Hands-on experience with Python, R and SQL.

- Experience with modern ML frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow or PyTorch.

- Proven ability to manage Data Science projects end-to-end, from problem definition through model deployment.

- Experience working with large-scale datasets and cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP or Azure.

- Strong stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field.

- Experience building data products, MLOps platforms or AI-driven business solutions.

- Exposure to BI and visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI or Looker.

- Knowledge of A/B testing, experimentation, causal inference and optimization techniques.
