Role Summary
We are looking for a Travel Analytics professional with 5-10 years of experience to own end-to-end travel data analytics, insights, and reporting. This role will lead large-scale travel data processing, build scalable analytics solutions, partner with internal stakeholders, and work closely with Travel Management Companies (TMCs) and related vendors to improve data quality, visibility, and business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end travel analytics: ingest, clean, standardize, validate, and analyze large travel datasets (bookings, ticketing, hotel, car, expense, and traveler profiles).
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and data models to support recurring and ad-hoc reporting needs.
- Perform advanced analytics (trend analysis, savings/variance analysis, policy compliance, leakage tracking, supplier performance) and present insights to leadership.
- Design and implement data systems/architecture for travel analytics (data lake/warehouse patterns, medallion/layered structures, orchestration, monitoring).
- Drive data governance for travel datasets: definitions, data dictionaries, business rules, audit checks, data quality scorecards, and issue tracking.
- Partner with TMCs to align data specifications, delivery cadence, file formats, mapping logic, and troubleshooting; manage escalations and resolution SLAs.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Finance, Operations, and Client/Business teams to translate business questions into measurable KPIs and dashboards.
- Develop automated dashboards and self-serve analytics solutions (monthly/quarterly business reviews, operational dashboards, executive summaries).
- Establish best practices for analytics delivery: reusable templates, documentation, peer reviews, and performance optimization.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements (automation, anomaly detection, reconciliation checks) to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
Core Skills & Qualifications
- 5-10 years of experience in travel analytics, spend analytics, or adjacent analytics roles (procurement/finance operations analytics is a plus).
- Solid understanding of travel data domains: booking flows, PNR/ticketing concepts, fare and hotel rate structures, policy compliance metrics, supplier programs.
- Demonstrated experience managing TMC relationships from a data/analytics standpoint (data feeds, mapping, issue resolution, continuous improvements).
- Strong communication skills-able to convert complex analysis into clear recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Experience with cost-savings methodologies and procurement/category analytics for travel (air/hotel/car).
- Exposure to data quality frameworks, anomaly detection, and reconciliation automation.
- Prior experience with multiple TMCs or travel data aggregators (e.g., Concur, Egencia, Amadeus, Sabre, Travelport, etc.) is a plus.
